Made From Beauty The BIG Beauty Clear Out: SkincareI’m really enjoying this little mini series; The BIG Beauty Clear Out and I hope you are too! If you missed the first post where I explained what’s going on, here’s the basics: 1.) I have a far too big beauty collection so, 2.) I am clearing things out 3.) before things go in the bin, I’m giving you a mini review of each product!

In today’s post I’m sharing the skincare items I’m clearing out from my beauty stash in the spare bedroom and from the bathroom. Some of these products I had finished up a little while ago and was hanging on to the packaging from an empties post (blogger problems), others are just past their best or didn’t work out for me.

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Made From Beauty The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

The first product I’m saying goodbye to is really just its packaging. It’s been months since I finished this product and the empty tin has been floating about for far too long. I’ve gone through at least three of these in the past year, it’s just a product I keep coming back to. For the affordable price point it’s a great cleansing butter/balm that removes all traces of makeup, cleans skin gently and nourishes whilst it works. 10/10 for performance and ease of use.

Waitrose Pure Facial Oil

Made From Beauty Waitrose Pure Facial Oil

Now here’s a little, seemingly nondescript affordable skincare item; the Waitrose Pure Facial Oil. Things have suddenly blown up for this product in the beauty world, after it was discovered and talked about by skincare guru Caroline Hirons last week. I’ve used all of this thin, non-scented, clear oil in about eight months, but not as a skincare item per-se, but more of a glow-giver to my foundation. I’ll be sharing in a blog post soon how I used this product and how to get maximum glow from any base – just watch this space!

Alpha H Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream

Made From Beauty Alpha H Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream

An oldie but a goodie. You might have spied this product in an old empties post if you’ve been a reader for a while, I loved this product so much I spent only one month without it before I repurchased it. Rejuvenating and resurfacing, if you have dry, dull skin this is the product for you!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Made From Beauty Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I’m saying goodbye to a staple of my dressing table. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water has surprisingly become part of the furniture round these parts. I featured it in my 5 Under £5: Complexion post, so head on over there if you want a full review.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner

Made From Beauty The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner

There’s still a little bit left of this giant Tea Tree Toner from The Body Shop, but I made a huge dent in it. Back in the days that my skin was a little more blemish prone this would be lovely to sweep across my face before a hydrating toner. Keep spots at bay, but being tree tea, was a little drying.

nSpa Hot Cloth Cleanser

Made From Beauty nSpa Hot Cloth Cleanser

You can read my full review of this product here, but basically a dupe for the Liz Earle Clean and Polish. Gets makeup off, calming on the skin and a pleasure to use – which is probably why this one is an empty too.

Waitrose Pure Eye Makeup Remover

Made From Beauty Waitrose Pure Eye Makeup Remover

Back in the same post that I reviewed a large chunk of the Waitrose Pure range, this product shined out as one of the best. A few months on, I’m binning this one with about half left over. Although it’s not a horrible product, it just doesn’t wow me.

Soap and Glory Greatest Scrub of All

Made From Beauty Soap and Glory Greatest Scrub of All

I’ve almost finished this product, but honestly I’d had enough. I’m not a huge fan of manual scrubs with small beads, but I was drawn to this one as it is also loaded with salicylic acid to really get to work on those dead skin cells. Unfortunately it was to harsh for my face, so I switched to using it on my legs which worked well for a time, until it started to dry them out, so thank you Soap and Glory, but no thank you.

B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser

Made From Beauty B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser

Here’s another product I’ve tried really hard to love, the B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser. I picked this one up because I had a feeling it might be similar to the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel but at an affordable price. Instead of melting makeup away as it transforms into a soothing oil, this product actively clung to skin making it hard to work over the face, with even the smallest amount of water it simply dissolved making it impossible to massage into the skin, plus it didn’t remove makeup very well either – so not really my cup of tea thank you!

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus SPF15 Line Smoothing Cream

Made From Beauty Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus SPF15 Line Smoothing Cream

This luxury sample size of the Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Line Smoothing Cream was really nice whilst it lasted. If you are concerned about fine lines I’d say check this product out, in just the couple of weeks I used it I could see it firming and tightening my skin. It was also perfect for dry skin types as its thick texture delivered moisture all day long.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

Made From Beauty The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

Talking of moisturising products, this face mist by The Body Shop packs a lot of punch in the hydration department for such an affordable mist. Apply as part of your skincare routine, or throughout the day on bare skin or over makeup, to top up moisture levels, beautiful!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

Made From Beauty DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

I’m ever so slightly in love with this cleansing oil, soothing and moisturising whilst keeping skin in balance, a pleasure to use, and removes makeup effortlessly, what is there not to love?

Boots Botanics All Bright Eye Soothing Eye Makeup Remover

Made From Beauty Boots Botanics All Bright Eye Soothing Eye Makeup Remover

I’m saying goodbye to the last bit of this eye makeup remover as it’s been in my collection longer than I’d care to admit. One of my drugstore favourites by far and definitely a product I’ll be repurchasing at some point.

Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum

Made From Beauty Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum

Another product from the Boots Botanics All Bright range is this serum. I have to say although I enjoyed the application of this during the months I used it, after around six months I have seen no difference in my skin, which is a shame because if it had lived up to its claims it would have been a great affordable skincare item.

La Roche-Posay Effacer Duo

Made From Beauty La Roche-Posay Effacer Duo

One affordable skincare item I will always stand by, however, is the La Roche-Posay Effacer Duo. This product has saving my skin time and time again when it has started to break out. I’m chucking away the empty packaging here, which means for the first time in months I’m left without it in my collection – better remedy that some time soon!

Ole Henriksen invigorating Night Gel

Made From Beauty Ole Henriksen InviGorating Night Gel

And last but not least is this luxury sample of the Ole Henriksen InviGorating Night Gel. I’ve having to let this one go almost full because I couldn’t stand the gel texture (I’m really not a gel skincare kinda gal). Although I loved the effect this product had on my skin; think visibly brighter, more radiant skin after one use, tight, lifted under eye area and blemishes kept at bay, I just couldn’t stand that it simply sat on my skin and didn’t sink in. I see now that this product has been replaced by the Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Creme – so boy do I want to get my hands on this new improved formula!
