If you asked me what type of beauty product I used most of, I would probably say oils. As someone with slightly dry skin, frizzy hair and temperamental nails, oils have always been my savour. Not only are oils my most used products, they’re also the products I recommend the most. Dry lips? Try a lip oil. Hair exploding into a frizzy mess? Grab the hair oil. Tan not lasting long enough? You need a self-tanning oil.

There are also so many different oils on the market nowadays. From all natural coconut oil, to facial oil serums, even shower oils (sound dangerous, actually delightfully decadent). With all this choice, you could be forgiven for not knowing where to start. So today I want to give you a little run down of my current favourites and some I am looking to purchase.

Although my love affair with beauty oils has been a long one, I have only just started to include them as a regular fixture of my skincare routine. I started out (way back HERE) with the Botanics Organic Facial Oil. After finding out more about the Botanics range at Boots, I couldn’t wait to find out what this 100% organic sweet almond oil based product would perform. Inside this beautiful formula you’ll also find a generous dose of organic Rosehip extract; perfect for nourishing the skin with omegas and essential fatty acids. I use this product by adding a couple of drops to my nighttime moisturiser and always wake up with plump, glowing skin.

Another facial oil I have been trying is actually a newer addition to my skincare cabinet. The Pai Rosehip Oil is famous in the beauty community for its skin-loving, natural ingredients. I’ve read that beauty bloggers the world over unite in their love with this product, so I had to try it out.

My true love for beauty oils really doesn’t come out until we talk about hair. I’ve lost count of the amount of hair oils I have mentioned on Made From Beauty (HERE, HERE & HERE are some of my favourites). The reason why I talk about them so often is because they totally changed my relationship with my hair. Before slathering on my first melted scoop of coconut oils onto the ends of my hair I was drowning in a frizzy mess of breaking, difficult to manage locks. Now almost five years on, hair oils are an essential in my beauty routine. I have some recommendations; loving THIS formula, also THIS one and or course cult favourite: THIS beautiful oil. But, the one I am using at the moment is the Kerastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil, and am particularly in love.

When it comes to bodycare oils there are so many on the market. In fact, I only recently spoke about one of my favourite new found body oils in THIS post. I have also been reaching for the Tummy Rub Oil from Mama Mio, which although I am sure would be brilliant for expecting mums, I just like to use all over the body for smooth, supple skin. Another long standing favourite is the Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil. I also have a bit of a soft spot for self-tan oils around this time of year. My personal favourites are the St. Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil and the Bondi Sands Liquid Gold Tan Oil. Tanning oils are an excellent choice for those of us who want that faux glow but have drier skin. An oil tan conditions as it bronzes and leaves behind a beautiful, subtle colour.

Now there is a new type of oil I’d like to bring into my beauty routine; aromatherapy oils. I have been researching some of the easily accessible blends out there and I think I am going to go with Neal’s Yard Remedies. After dealing with stress at work recently, one of my colleagues recommended I tried aromatherapy; but I didn’t know where to start. It was important to me to start with a brand that I know and trust, which is exactly what Neal’s Yard Remedies is to me. After reading the information on the website, I think I am looking to invest in the Organic English Lavender essential oil to add into my shower routine before bed. This oil is meant to be cleansing, relaxing and refreshing – so perfect for what I am looking for.
