dsc_0005If you saw my Trying Out Tarte post (read it HERE) then you’ll know that I am still pretty new to Tarte. The first time I tried the brand I was totally blown away by the selection of beautiful products QVC put together. In the UK QVC is the best place to buy Tarte, so when I saw the Radiance from the Rainforest Set I really wanted to give it a go.

dsc_0069The set includes the Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation. I’ve been wanting to try this foundation for such a long time, I’ve heard a lot about it from other blogs. I applied the base with my Beauty Blender and was immediately blown away with the coverage. The Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation gives medium to full coverage whilst still being natural and skin-like. It took me a little while to get used to the dropper applicator, so I found it easiest to drop a few drops on to the back of my hand before picking the product up with my Beauty Blender. Throughout the day the foundation wore very nicely. It felt comfortable to wear and managed to hold up for about eight hours wear.

I could have applied the foundation with the Double-Ended Complexion Brush that cane in the set; but to be honest I’m totally addicted to my Beauty Blender at the moment I didn’t even think. The flat topped, soft buffing brush on one end is great for foundations and concealer. The slanted end is incredible for blending in cream contour and blushes. I can see that I’ll be reaching for this brush quite a lot!

The set also came with one of the Amazonian Clay Silk Eyeliner in Black. If you saw the post of me trying out Tarte for the first time, then you’ll know I already love these liners. The black shade is an incredibly intense, deep black that smudges beautifully to begin with but then sets and stays in place all day. This liner has to be one of my favourites on the market.

One of the most exciting pieces in the set has to be the Amazonian Clay palette including Amazonian Clay Blush in Mystified and 6 eyeshadows. I’m already a huge fan of the Amazonian Clay Blushes. They are brilliant for being super long lasting, easy to blend and just the right amount of colour.

The shadows are absolutely gorgeous. The shades work together so nicely. There’s Tide, a pale pink that is perfect for working all over the lid. Sunset, a pretty taupe great for the crease. Sandcastle is a lovely brown that is perfect for smokey looks. I tried Reflection, a lavender shimmer over the inner part of my lid and was blown away by the pretty sparkle it gave. Horizon is a pale plum, which although isn’t my most loved shade in the palette it works well with the other shades. I thought I wouldn’t be too crazy about the Driftwood shade, a dark plum with purple shimmer, but actually I really like it! All the shadows are the usual quality you would expect from Tarte, smooth blending, buildable and long lasting.

There is also the double ended Opening Act Lash Primer & Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. The Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara was already on of my favourite mascaras (read why HERE). So I was so excited to try out the Opening Act Lash Primer! It had been a long time since I’d used a lash primer – but I wasn’t disappointed! The primer gave my lashes that little extra boost. The extra oomph added up to longer, fuller lashes that were fluttery and standout – perfect!

Finally, the set also included a Coconut Oil Lipstick in Rosey Mauve. If you are looking for that perfect, easy to wear, highly pigmented, moisturising lip colour then look no further than this product. Although the Coconut Oil Lipstick might not be the longest lasting in the world, it makes up for it in being so comfortable, and plumping on the lips.

The set also comes with a Gold metallic makeup bag, but I’m really not a fan – so I’ve just left that one out!
