If you’ve been a reader of Made From Beauty for a little while, you might remember this Tuesday Talks post when I wrote about the importance of having as many adventures as possible. I’m still very passionate about what I said in that post and so when mine and Josh’s four year anniversary rolled around, we thought it was about time to embark on a mini adventure.
We choose to go to Brighton because I’ve always wanted to wander The Lanes and along its huge beach, Josh loves a spot of vintage shopping, and we couldn’t wait to get stuck in to some tasty Brighton food too!
Although The Lanes weren’t quite as I imagined, there were lots of beautiful places to shop! We popped into a lot of vintage shops, wishing we’d brought the car with us so we could buy all the beautiful furniture. Josh could have kitted himself out in a whole mid century wardrobe if I’d let him and me?…well I nearly brought three 1950s wedding dresses because they were just that beautiful! If you are looking for somewhere to pick up old records and trinkets, Brighton should be top of your list!
We spent the majority of our time in the city eating tasty Italian food (yes that’s my huge plate of pasta in the background) and drinking yummy scrummy coffee from hipster coffee bars – well, when in Brighton…
We took a long walk along the beach, despite it being pretty chilly, and even got ourselves a little huge ice-cream. The pier was very nice, even on a winter’s day, but I expect it would be beautiful in the summer! I also loved looking at the Pavilion, but would have loved to have gone inside if we’d had more time, hopefully next time!
So have you ever been to Brighton? If so please let me know in the comments below where your favourite spot is to eat/walk/soak up some culture!
Sam

I live in Brighton and love reading blog posts of what people do when they come to visit! It’s really interesting seeing the city through someone else’s eyes. x
