One of the things I was most excited about when starting a new job was being able to wear my favourite makeup again. I know that sounds silly, but before I was working in a hot, busy environment, so I couldn’t wear a base that wasn’t seriously long-lasting or completely matte.
It’s a really luxury now, being able to wear a dewy, light foundation; so the one I’ve been reaching for time and time again is the KIKO Hydrating Fluid Universal Fit Foundation.
I’ve spoken about this foundation a few times on Made From Beauty (here and here) before, but I just wanted to share my love for it again.
For an everyday base, there’s really no better option – lightweight, medium coverage, glowing finish.
I like to apply it with my fingers as I find this gives me the most natural finish. It’s so easy and quick to apply, perfect for those early mornings.
Throughout the day I find the foundation allows just a hint of my natural oils to peak through, meaning I keep that healthy glow and yet it manages to hang around all the way through the working day without needing touch ups. I know I’ve said it before about KIKO makeup, but this foundation really performs like a highend base, you wouldn’t have guessed it was under £10!
So is it as hydrating as KIKO claims?
Yes! About as hydrating as a foundation can be. It feels like a moisturiser when you apply, cooling and soothing. By the end of the day my skin still looks plump and hydrated so that all good with me!
My only gripe? I’ve been into the KIKO London store twice now and both times left with the wrong shade! Last time I picked up the wrong undertone because I couldn’t see properly in the store lighting (I know, I’m old right?) and this last time I didn’t check the tube inside the box – when I got home it was a totally different shade than I thought I’d picked up! Pretty frustrating.
At the moment, I’m making Neutral 30 work for me, but its about three shades too dark for me – maybe perfect for the summer?
Here I am wearing the foundation with no powder and a little concealer under the eyes:
Have you tried the KIKO Hydrating Fluid Universal Fit Foundation? Or what is your everyday base at the moment? Let me know in the comments below!

Oh I haven’t heard of that one before, I’ll have to check it out!
Thank you so much! x
I’m quite a big fan of this foundation, even if I don’t wear it too often. I find that my skin needs to be in good condition or sometimes it tends to stick to dry patches. Love how flawless your skin is here x

I had forgotten how much I loved it myself! I haven’t had those issues, but I’ll keep an eye out as my skin gets a little drier in the colder months – thanks for the heads up!

As soon as I saw the word ‘hydrating’ I knew this would be right up my street as I’ve been having a nightmare with my skin being super dehydrated recently. I’m visiting the Brighton Kiko store on monday so I think I’m going to have to pick one of these up :)
Love Holly x
