It’s that time of the month again when new glossy pages hit news-stands all across the country. This month, in the UK, we’re a little spoilt for choice, especially where freebies are concerned! Here’s my round up of the month’s best buys:
If you remember a little while back I raved about the Clinique Smart Serum free with InStyle, you’ll know I always check the magazine out for great deluxe samples of top beauty products. This month InStyle have treated us and are giving away a free full size Nails Inc polish to every reader. There are four shades available, but I picked up the orangey-red; Love Will Tear Us Apart. This shade is the perfect thing for summer fingers to be sporting, and also very similar to the recent Victoria Beckham X Nails Inc colour Juno Red. If you read my Winter Polishes post you’ll know that I’ve been a fan of Nails Inc for a while. With their polishes coming in at £11.00 normally, it’s hard to turn down the opportunity to pick a shade free with InStyle for £3.99.
Another collaboration I was very excited to see was Elemis teaming up with Marie Claire to give readers a deluxe sample of either their Papaya Enzyme Peel or their Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm. I found it tough to choose between these products, as I’ve wanted to try both for a while. As my skin is in need of a little TLC, I went for the Papaya Enzyme Peel, with its fruit enzymes to exfoliate away dead skin to brighten and tighten, I can’t wait to try this out.
The last deluxe sample size beauty product I managed to pick up with magazines this month was the Percy and Reed Volumising No Oil Oil free with Elle. Firstly can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful Charlize Theron looks on this cover! Stunning!
But back to the freebie, I have been wanting to try a Percy and Reed product for a while, but I haven’t yet been tempted enough to invest in a full size product. So the chance to try a product in sample size was welcomed, and with my hair, what better product than an oil! I’ve tried this on dry hair through the ends and I can report that it does a decent job at taming flyaways and leaving hair with a shine.
On to something else I’ve wanted to try for a while: adult colouring. We all loved colouring as a kid, so the idea of it made specifically for grown ups sounded pretty cool. I wasn’t ready to take the plunge and buy a whole book of these, so when I saw one of my favourite magazines, The Simple Things, were offering some colouring cards to try in their June issue, I wanted in! You’ll receive two cards from the book Mindfulness Colouring Book by Emma Farrarons to get creative with. Often talked of as a stress managing exercise, think of this as the portable jigsaw puzzle. I’ve started one of mine, look out on my Instagram for the finished piece.
And finally, an accessory pick free with Tatler‘s July issue; these cute cat eye sunglasses. I occasionally read Tatler, so I was quite happy to pay £4.40 for these glasses and a good read. I love the classic cat eye style of sunglasses and these freebies are surprisingly good quality. Watch out for them in up coming outfits of the day posts – weather providing!
Will you be picking up any of the magazines I’ve mentioned?
And would you consider buying one just for the freebie? I know I have!

I’m really glad you liked it Kat! I would say the Nails Inc polish is the best freebie by far, and all the shades on offer are gorgeous! x
