Gottex Argento Contour Bandeau Swimsuit Review

There aren’t many things that fill me with quite as much fear as putting on a bikini or swimsuit & going out in public. For someone with little body confidence, the only thing that makes this worse is not having beach wear that makes me feel great. So when I got the chance to try out a new swimsuit for my trip to Devon, I couldn’t wait to get to the beach.

The swimsuit I am wearing in this post is the Gottex Argento Contour Bandeau Swimsuit from UK Swimwear. Now, this swimsuit might be a little racy than my normal choices (considering I normally stick to a plain black one piece in an effort to blend in to my surroundings), but I actually loved the print! Instead of my normal feeling of dread when it comes to swimwear, I was actually excited to experiment with a new style.

My confidence was only boosted by the fact that this one piece also has ‘light tummy control’. I have previously tried swimsuits that promise some serious flattening in the tummy region, but honestly I have never got on with those styles. Although I want to look my best in a swimming costume, if you can’t swim or barely move in the thing then in my mind it’s not really doing its job. So it was a breath of fresh air being able to pop on a suit that slightly controlled my midriff, without feeling like I was wearing a corset.

There is also something amazing about the Argento design that really slims. It hugs in all the right places, the print placement helps contour my hourglass figure & the brilliant quality fabric is everything I have always wanted. The subtle ruffles and creases on the front of the costume add to slimming effect – think of it as a trick of the eye!

I also loved the freedom that came with having detachable straps on this swimming costume. I was able to keep them on when I wanted to go into the sea (which was rarely because the weather down in Devon wasn’t the greatest) and then detach them for more of a fashion statement when I was just relaxing reading my book.

Do you have great body confidence when it comes to wearing swimwear? Or do you need a little extra boost, like I found in this swimming costume? Let me know in the comments below!
