5 Of the Best Products for Beachy WavesIf you’ve been reading Made From Beauty for a while then you’ll know I’m a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to beachy waves, messy texture and lived-in hair. So today I’m going to give you the run down of 5 of my favourite go-to products for the beachy look this summer.

OUAI Sun Of A Beach Ombré Spray

Who remembers spraying a concoction of lemon juice and other random kitchen crap on the ends of their hair in an effort to get affordable highlights in the 90s? Please tell me it’s not just me! Back in the 90s & early 2000’s highlighted hair was all the rage – think before we knew Balayage was a thing – and it you could get that natural sun-kissed look to your hair, all the better. Well, now we know lemon juice and other random stuff from the kitchen doesn’t work 100% how we want & can damage hair, OUAI have revived our love for subtly sun-bleached hair with their Sun Of A Beach Ombré Spray. The lightener can brighten existing highlights and add a touch of brightness to virgin hair (non-colour treated hair). There’s also a big dose of coconut water to keep hair healthy whilst lightening. Despite the subtle lightening, the other reason I love this product is that it gives possibly the most natural and believable beachy texture of any hair care I have tried for a while.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray

Probably the wave spray I have used the most throughout the years is the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray. I see this product as the original, the best, the ultimate beachy wave spray. If you are after some serious grit, then this product will give it to you. Used sparingly, Surf Spray will give you a natural, slightly rough texture; but I see this product as a ‘bringing out the big guns’ styler. Once in a while I go crazy with the pumps and really give my hair that beachy vibe. I say once in a while because Surf Spray can dry hair out, so whilst I wouldn’t recommend it for everyday use, if you’re after some serious texture: look no further.

Kérastase Aura Botanica Eau de Vagues

If it’s a soft beachy texture you’re after then I would highly recommend the Kérastase Aura Botanica Eau de Vagues. I would do so far to say that classing this product in the beachy waves category might be a little over generous, but it’s still a beautiful styling cream in it’s own right. If you just need a little extra hold, or you like hair to be more on the piece-y side than glossy, then Kérastase have got you covered with this one.

OUAI Texturizing Hair Spray

In need of instant beachy texture? Then back to OUAI we go (isn’t this brand the Queen’s of texturised hair?). I have tried a lot of OUAI products in my quest for perfectly un-perfect hair, all of which I have loved (apart from the Dry Texturising Foam – let’s not eve go there), but the one I always find myself coming back to is the Texturizing Hait Spray. I just love how quickly it deposits gorgeous matte, lived-in texture that livens up any wave or curl I’m rocking.

Lee Stafford Lived In Spray

If you’re after an affordable version of the OUAI Texturizing Hair Spray then may I suggest the Lee Stafford Lived In Spray. I would say the Lee Stafford doesn’t give as much hold as the OUAI, but I’m ok with that; I’m not always looking for hold, just texture. In fact, I love this styler so much I wrote a whole post about it HERE, so I won’t bang on about it. Basically, if you’re after instant, rough texture for the hair on the high street then this might just be the best product out there.

On a more blogging note – this post contains some of my first film photography for a while, it’s something I’m hoping to include more & more in my posts & I would love your feedback about using film like this.
