It’s important to add oils into your skincare regime during the winter, as skin can become drier in the cold weather. My skin has really been suffering this season, so I went on a mission to Boots to pick up a little skin treat.
Along with some other nourishing products (which I’ll be sharing next week here on Made From Beauty) I picked up the Superfacialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C Skin Renew Cleansing Oil.
Although my skin is normal to dry recently, even if you are oily, adding a light oil into your skincare routine can be very beneficial. The skin, especially during the colder months, can become dry and parched in the winter, and so starts to produce excess oil try to counteract the dryness. So a light oil, or an oil that isn’t on the skin for a huge amount of time, like a cleansing oil, can really help balance the skin, giving it the moisture it’s crying out for.
One of the main benefits of using this product, as well as the hit of moisture, is the brightening vitamin C. Vitamin C in skincare works by hindering the production of the enzyme tyrosinase, meaning that less melanin pigments are produced and melanin is one of the skins main ‘dark mark’ makers. So if you suffer from acne scars or sun spots products like this one with vitamin C can really help fade old marks and prevent new ones from forming.
With cleansing oils, you can use them to remove makeup and to clean the skin. To get the best out of the cleanser I suggest taking a small amount in your hands and rubbing it into dry skin. If you’re using this product as a makeup remover then go ahead and rub this oil all over your makeup and watch it melt away.
The light texture means this oil is perfect to use to give yourself a quick facial massage whilst you cleanse, to improve circulation and help firm the skin.
I like to remove the Superfacialist Vitamin C Skin Renew Cleansing Oil with a flannel and warm water, wiping away makeup and dirt. But with this product you can also add a little water so it emulsifies into a creamy cleanser.
I’m hugely impressed by this product and it has proven to me that using oil daily on my skin has nourished and balanced it beautiful. Have you ever tried the Superfacialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C Skin Renew Cleansing Oil? If so let me know in the comments below!

I’ve been wanting to try this for a while, it sounds great, and I love the fact that it includes vitamin C! I’ve used the Miracle Makeover Oil by Una Brennan before which is fab, you use it before your cleanser to help dislodge makeup, it feels so soothing on the skin!
