Tomorrow is Halloween, so last weekend Josh and I went pumpkin picking. At the age of 22, and considering I’ve living in the New Forest my whole life, I’d never even seen a pumpkin patch before.
We picked up two pumpkins, one each to carve and some really tasty autumn raspberries that I’ve made into one hell of a tasty crumble.
Being a Saturday, I decided to go all out on the makeup front. Saturday’s are kind of my day to really go to town with trying new looks and piling on new foundations, eye shadows and of course; the winged liner!
Feeling extra autumn-y I went for a dark berry lip courteously of Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Love Liberty. When these lipsticks first launched, I was immediately taken with this shade. A rich berry with a hint of blackberry about it. I love the formula of these lipsticks, they are creamy, smooth and long wearing with a demi-matte finish.
My foundation was a new love of mine, the Max Factor Miracle Match Shade-Matching Foundation. I’ve been reaching for this base more and more, a good medium coverage, that’s hydrating and semi-matte for the ultimate natural finish.
On the eyes I wore some of my old faithfuls, the Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette in ‘1 – Nude’ and MAC’s All That Glitters. All That Glitters is my favourite go-to shadow when I’m not sure what to wear, a warm gold that pairs perfectly with a berry lip, it’s to easy to sweep on and blend out with any other colour. My Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette has been a staple in my collection for a while now and if you’ve read my 5 Under £5: Eyes post, you’ll know why. One things for certain with this palate: it’s awesome value for money!
My liner was the fantastic Supercat by Soap and Glory, which is a super black formula in pen form that’s easy to apply and lasts all day.
I finished the rest of my skin off with little bronze and contour from my Anastasia Contour Kit, and a little warmth from my Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Nude Mauve Pink. Even on a chilled out Saturday I couldn’t forego highlight and went for my trusty Mary-Lou Manizer by the balm to give me a glow.
On my nails I went for Sally Hansen’s Coast Of Arms, a silver/gold metallic polish. I went for this nail look as it never fails to make me feel girly and polished whatever the weather.
My hair I through up in a half up – half down do.
I had a great time with Josh, sometimes it’s nice to go somewhere with no phone signal and just relax. We took our time picking our pumpkins and chatty whilst we choose our raspberries. This would be a great day out for the family close to Halloween.
The farm we went to, The Cat and Fiddle Farm near Dorset, had cute little sledges for the little ones to put their pumpkins on as they walked around.
There was also a little coffee and produce shop at the entrance to the farm, so there’s no reason why this couldn’t take you a fair few hours with the kids (me and Josh took an hour and a half with just us)!
So what did you think of my Autumnal makeup? Is it something you’d wear? And let me know in the comments below what your getting up to on this goolish holiday!
Happy Halloween!

Thank you Rachel, we went to one near Dorset, the Cat and Fiddle Farm, I’ve linked the farm with directions in the blog post if you’d like to check it out. They aren’t all that common in the UK and certainly not ones that you can pick your own at!
Thank you for your comment x
