DSC_0030Last weekend, I woke up to some serious hustle and bustle right outside my window; The Romsey Food Festival had come to town!

Living in a small town, I’ll be honest, not a lot happens. So it was lovely to see hundreds of people milling about, the streets lined with different stalls selling weird and wonderful foods; the smell of bubble and squeak drifting in through my bedroom window.

I went for a little adventure, camera in hand and a big bag to carry home my yummy treasures. So today I’m going to share with you a little photo diary; come, take a walk with me…

There were lots of tasty treats to munch as you walked around, like the scrummy pork from The Posh Pig or a New Forest Rump steak in a ciabatta. But for me, it was the food and drinks you could take home with you that really got my attention. I picked up a jar of Utta Nutta peanut butter and a huge loaf of Tiger Bread for later.

I grabbed a coffee from Karuna Coffee which was delicious, before buying a huge portion of comforting bubble and squeak with a poached egg on top.

There was also a small section of local craft stalls, with beautiful illustrations, homemade soaps, shabby chic bunting and honey based cosmetics.

All in all, I’m really looking forward to next year, I know Josh would have loved it (there were lots of local brewers).

Is there something similar to the Romsey Food Festival that happens in your local area? Or maybe you’re closer than I knew and went to the Romsey festival yourself? I’d love to know, leave me a comment below!
