I’m a sucker for mascaras. There I said it.
If you’re bringing out a new mascara, I want to try it. I am well and truly addicted. Some might think that one mascara cannot be that different to the next and to that I say – you have a lot to learn my friend, a lot. Gone are the days that mascaras simply tint the lashes, preventing women all over the world from looking like little eggheads. Today mascaras are one of the most bought, reviewed and coveted beauty items on the market.
So with a new release from L’Oreal promising to make lashes longer, more volumised and more ‘feline’ I was at the front of the queue.
I’ve been trying out the new addition to the ever popular Volume Million line; the Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara for a couple of weeks now and I’m a little torn.
Firstly, lets get the marketing gimmick out of the way, this mascara will not magically give you a dramatic feline eye shape. However, the new curved wand will allow you to wing your lashes out towards the outer corner if you would like the illusion of an elongated eye.
The wand is actually one of my favourite parts of this mascara. Rather like the recently launched and hugely popular Benefit Roller Lash, the Volume Million Lashes Feline features short plastic bristles ready to catch onto lashes as the curved wand hugs the eye, allowing you to get close to the root and curve upwards.
My problem with this mascara, and something I’ve found with all the Volume Million line, is that they seem to be lacking in volume for me. I found the Volume Million Lashes Feline to be lengthening and eye-opening, but a bit ‘blah’ on the volume front. Which is why I no longer use this product on its own, I love to top it with my trusty L’Oreal Miss Manga for that extra oomph.

Saying that, there is another massive plus side for me with this mascara; the staying power. For a mascara that isn’t waterproof, this will stay surprising well throughout the day.
So all in all, I’m still unsure. I don’t think I’d repurchase the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara, but I’m happy to keep using it whilst I have it. What about you, have you tried the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara? If you have, let me know what you thought in the comments below.

I’m such a huge fan of L’Oreal mascaras, they’re honestly one of the best I’ve tried. This actually looks very similar to the False Lash Flutter I love and use daily so I’m sure I’ll love this too!

I usually love their mascaras too, so it was a shame this one wasn’t perfect for me!
Thank you for the comment x
I do like loreal mascaras! I’ve been using the bourjois 1 seconde which I’ve been loving. Mascaras are such a weird makeup item though – sooo personal! xxx

Oh I’ve been dying to try that one, I think it will be next on my list! I’m awful I’ve got like 6 mascaras on the go at the moment! Thanks for the recommendation x
I haven’t tried the feline one but the standard gold packaged mascara is amazing, I love it. KBxx

I don’t actually think I’ve tried the original, they all seem to blur into one with the Volume Million line, there’s been so many!
Thank you for your comment x
I really enjoyed reading this, you went into great detail and really gave me a feel for what the product is like :) I need to get a new mascara but I need a lot of volume, so I might give Miss Manga a try :)

I had that one and loved it too, sometimes LOreal really hit the nail on the head with their mascaras, and then sometimes they can be a bit of a let down, it’s so hard to know before hand!

I bought this recently and found it weighed down my eyelashes and didn’t hold any curl whatsoever. Such a disappointment as I was expecting great things from this mascara!
agree! as it shows in Sam’s picture as well. In the second and third coat pics, her lashes are also visibly weighed down compare to the first one.

I agree with you too! Mascaras shouldn’t be this hard to get right haha!

I must admit, that’s something o missed out on my review, I’m not sure this held a curl for me either! Such a shame!

I’m not too adventurous when it comes to mascara as I tend to stick to what I know works best. I wouldn’t be the biggest fan of the particular results with this mascara and I actually never really enjoyed any mascaras from L’Oreal before… think I find the formula too wet & then it gets clumpy x

I need to take a leaf out of your book and stick to the ones I love too! I keep trying new ones and not being blown away.
