Made From Beauty: Would You Strobe? The latest beauty trend, the one everyone is talking about is strobing. Using products, especially creams, to highlight areas of the face, giving it a light reflective glow for a healthy, fresh look.

As I’ve always been a lover of dewy, luminous complexions, strobing is something I’ve been doing for years without realising. So today I thought I’d talk you through some of my favourite products for a dewy complexion (whether you want to call it strobing or not!)

If I’m going for a dewy complexion I always start out with an illuminating primer. I’ve been loving the Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare as an all over glow giver under my foundation.

Picking a dewy foundation is key to this look too, as it will accentuate the glowiness of your highlighters. My pick would be the Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation or the KIKO Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation.

For concealing and highlighting there’s no better product on the market than the MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in Light Boost. It’s yellow colour will bring brightness the the face, cancel out redness and perk up the under eye, as well as the center of the face. With this product bounced into the skin with a makeup sponge, you’ll already have intensely highlighted areas – looks like we’re strobing here people!

And so the final steps to strobing involve piling on that highlight. Shimmers and sheens, champagne or frosts, get it on!

For this would be to dot and blend a little of the Benefit High Beam onto the cheekbones and brow bone, leaving a sheen of pinky gleam in its wake.

Then take the No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter down the nose, across the Cupid’s bow and slightly on the chin. I love this product for a touch of radiance on natural makeup days, but it also works beautifully for strobing as there’s no chunky glitter in slight, just pure glow. (Oh and did I mention it’s a drugstore dupe for the Benefit Watts Up?)

To top it off go heavy with the powdered highlighter to set all your creams and liquids in place. I’ll be using theBalms Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter for this step. I’ve raved about this beautiful powder for some time now along with the rest of the beauty world, but for good reason! If your looking for a highlight that says “I’m here!” then this is your product!

Finally, don’t miss the chance to go crazy with the MAC Fix+. If you read my Summer Foundation Routine, you’ll know I’ve been head over heels with this product recently, so any chance to use it heavily then I’m in! A few bursts of this will ensure everything looks dewy and glowing for longer, as well as giving you a complete strobed look!
