My Top 5 Glossy Nudes

You’ve done your makeup, your eyes look perfect and skin on-point, now what for the lips? A nude!

I think there’s no doubt most of us reach for some kind of nude if we’re not sure how to finish a look off. Be it a pinky nude, brown nude, or even a mauve nude – it’s the go to look of a generation.

And I almost always go for a glossy nude. Easy, moisturising, plumping, barely-there washes of colour; just what a girl needs.

So here are my top go-to glossy nudes for summer, spring, win…oh hell, anytime of year:

1.) L’Oreal Color Riche Extraordinaire in 601 Nude Ballet

I’ll hold my hands up, I brought this product after hearing that Kim Kardashian wore it on her wedding day.

I was already a fan of the Color Riche Extraordinaire glosses, the formula of these are like a glossy liquid lipstick. They pack a punch when it comes to pigmentation and say on the lips of hours. They can be a little sticky, so I like to apply a small amount and work it into the lips for a more comfortable wear.

The shade Nude Ballet is a true nude, much lighter than my natural lip colour with a touch of pink.

2.) NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée

After hearing Claire Marshall rave about this product in one of her monthly favourites videos, I had to pick it up.

Although NYX is a little hard to get hold of in the UK, this product has become one of my handbag staples.

It’s sweet smelling, lip plumping and gorgeous! A pink, that allows your natural lip colour to peek through. I love it on its own, or paired with a brighter pink lipstick underneath.

3.) No7 BB Lips in Ballerina

This is a well loved product, as you can probably tell by the packaging. I picked this up thinking it might be a dupe for the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors, and I’m happy to report this is pretty close.

A little heavier than the Clarins, the BB Lips is a squeezy tube full of nudey lip goodness.

This formula will smooth over lip lines and hydrate, whilst being one of the most weightless formulas in my line up.

The shade Ballerina is a mauvey, taupey, pink with a touch of shimmer.

4.) Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in 105 Demure

I’m not normally wild about twist up pencil products, but this Revlon number is too pretty to pass up.

The shade Demure is a warm pink with flecks of silver and gold glitter to really give the lips that pouty, full look.

With a peppermint scent and light formula this is one of my go-to products during the warmer months.

5.) L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss in 103 Protest Queen

A new favourite on the list here. When L’Oreal reformulated their glosses and released these new lipglosses, I picked up a few and have been really impressed.

Protest Queen is a cool toned nude pink, a cream formulation with no shimmer than sits on the lips beautifully all day with no stickiness or separation.

There no doubting I’m a little ‘in the box’ with these choices, but when it’s a simple shade for everyday, there’s nothing better than these five in my opinion.

I tend to go for drugstore nudes very often, as they are ‘throw in the bag’ products for me. But I would love to hear your recommendations on high end nude gloss products – maybe something from YSL?
