It’s bitterly cold in the UK at the moment, which you could probably tell if you’ve read my Winter Berries or My Top Five Winter Nail Colours post recently. The chilly, wet days prompted me to pick up two new pairs of boots. Both extremely similar in style, both very, very pretty…
The first pair I picked up from ASOS, the Ravel Alicia Mid Heel Ankle Boots in Beige Suede, currently available on the Ravel website. They’re my first pair of light coloured boots, and I am completely converted.
I was once of the opinion that black was the only colour shoe that went with everything. I stand corrected. The colour actually works very nicely with a wide variety of outfits and the slightly cowboy-ish detailing isn’t too in your face, meaning they can be worn with just about anything. These little beauties manage to transform a simple jeans and t-shirt jumper look into something a bit more put together, but also manage to tone down a skirt and shirt look, adding a more casual factor. The suede is butter soft, but the craftsmanship of these shoes mean they feel a little more substantial than a lot of other suede boots of the market.
I loved the Ravel Alicia Mid Heel Ankle Boots so much that when I saw these Black Leather Cowboy Ankle Boots on the NewLook website on sale for only £20, I picked them up straight away! They are now sold out, but you might be able to find a pair in-store. I’ll be honest, they are no where near as good quality as the Ravel boots, but they are still a lovely option for cold days. Just like the Ravel boots, they feature a slightly dipped front, making them super flattering as they elongate the legs.
Let me know in the comments below about your favourite boots. Would you choose suede for the winter, was that a wise move?
