The Bloggers Blog Awards 2015

Two weeks ago was another big event for me; the Bloggers Blog Awards! Now before I get onto the actual post, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone that voted for Made From Beauty. Being shortlisted for Best Up & Coming Beauty Blog is my biggest achievement yet, totally unexpected and totally awesome, so thank you.

So where were we?

The awards were held in Leeds, so as a Southampton blogger it was a bit of a trek to get to the awards ceremony, but that wasn’t going to stop me! I hoped in a car, then a plane, then a bus and boom: I was in Leeds!

If you follow me on Twitter then you might have seen my regular updates and drama. Basically my hotel had previously said I could check in early, then changed their minds when I arrived on their doorstep, leaving me to paint my nails and put my face on in a Starbucks – not my most glamorous moment. But hotel drama aside, I finally arrived at the lovely venue; Lamberts Yard. A stunning, warehouse type, first floor space above the awesome shop.

I had an lovely time, swanning around in my new La Moda shoes, talking to all the beautiful bloggers.

A huge shoutout to Jemma from Dorkface Blog for being my green-haired beacon when I entered the room. I’ve been blogging for almost a year, but it still doesn’t get any easier walking into a room of strangers. So imagine my relief when Jemma shouted “Sam!” in all her scouse glory when I tiptoed in!

It was an overwhelming event, with competitions and prizes flying everywhere, so I was so relieved to buddy up with the fantastic Charlotte from Charlotte Sophia Roberts and Ana from Ravishing Roses (the two lovely ladies also up for the Best Up & Coming Beauty Blog Award that attended the event).

I apologize hugely for not having many photos of the actual day, but to be honest I was just having too much fun!

I did however win some beautiful stationary goodies from Lily Rose Co in the huge raffle, as well as a large hair extension voucher from Hot Hair which I’ll be putting to good use very soon!
