DSC_0012Things are getting chillier here in the UK and whilst it’s not quite cold enough for wooly jumpers and big coats, it is just about the time that berry lips are making their way onto my makeup menu everyday.

There’s one berry toned lipstick I picked up last year that I love; Charlotte Tilbury’s Love Liberty. Part of the Tilbury Matte Revolution line, this lipstick really is super long lasting and yet oh so comfortable at the same time.

This year, I’ve found my favourite way of wearing this stunning shade. So here are my tips and tricks to a long lasting, deep berry pout:

1.) Although my lipstick of choice isn’t drying, I like to start everyday with well moisturised lips. I wear my NUXE Reve De Miel lip balm most nights, then in the morning I like to reapply it whilst I pop on my base makeup and finish off my eyes. I then go in with a cotton bud and remove any extra product, leaving me with smooth, plump lips. I find this extra step helps all my lip products apply and wear beautifully.

2.) If I’m wearing a lipstick I really like to use a lip liner. I find it just allows me to perfect the shape of my lips and prolongs the wear time of any lip colour I go for. I was routing around in my lip products the other day when I realised this Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Berry Much is a bit of a dupe for Love Liberty. So I’ve now been taking the Velvet Lip Pencil all around the outside of my lips and to help get a perfected, long lasting lip.

There’s also no doubting that the squared bullet of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks also really helps by giving you lots of control over where the colour goes.
