Today I’m talking about another Max Factor product, if you missed yesterdays Max Factor review, read it here. I have spoken a little about blush on the blog before, and usually my use of blush falls into the ‘must’ category. Normally I will only wear blush if I feel I really need it, not because I am exited about it. I have never been one to lust after a blush, join the waitlist for a new blush release or even really, really, really, want to add a blush to my collection. That was, of course, until the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers release last year.
But as the Hourglass blushers are a little out of my price range, I was on the hunt for something that would give me that same luminous glow of colour. I had been using cream blushers for a while (check out my post on my favourites here) but sometimes powders are a little easier in the early mornings. In steps the new Max Factor Creme Puff Blush.
The first shade I picked up was Nude Mauve; a subtle light pink that works so well with bronzer. Nude Mauve creates a soft glow of colour across the cheeks and this is the one I’ve been getting the most wear out of for work and easy weekend makeup.
The next shade I have is Seductive Pink, another gorgeous everyday colour. I must say this packs a little bit more punch than Nude Mauve and would be a perfect summertime colour, adding that illuminated flush.
And the last shade I have is Gorgeous Berries, a bright raspberry shade that I wear lightly on the apples of the cheeks for that winter just-been-out-in-the-cold healthy flush. If you have a deeper skin tone this would be the shade to pick ups
Swatched from left to right: Gorgeous Berries, then Seductive Pink, followed by Nude Mauve.
I must say I am very impressed with the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush. Although they come across a bit shimmery in the pan, this just translates into a lit from within glow on the skin. I find they have pretty good lasting power, making it through the working day. If you’re in the states you’re lucky enough to have quite a few of these marbled blushers available at the drugstore, but right now in the UK they are few and far between, so this release makes me very happy.
