Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Bronze

If you read my, The Long Wearing Everyday Eye post then you will know I am a regular wearer on crème eyeshadows. They are what I reach for pretty much everyday during the working week, as I can slap them on with my fingers, blend them out easily and they are super long wearing.

Apart from the products I featured in my The Long Wearing Everyday Eye post and the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, it has been a long time since I have really fallen in love with a new crème eyeshadow release. That was until I laid eyes on the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Bronze.

Max Factor have really hit the nail on the head with this formula, the Excess Shimmer Eyeshadows have a mouse-like texture to them. This means they are easier to work with than your traditional crème-in-a-pot shadow, as their texture is light and buildable. Here I have used about three thin layers to create a deep, smokey eye:

The colour sets within seconds of blending, so you can guarantee your shadow will still be in place at the end of the day too!

Now, I would have normally walked on by a product described with the words ‘excess’ and ‘shimmer’ but when swatched this rich chocolate brown crème shows off its subtle bronze shimmers in a classy way. As a brunette, I think this looks particularly beautiful blended all across the lids, and under the lower lashline to create a dramatic, sexy, defined eye.

If you’re blonde, or with particularly pale skin, you may want to use Bronze just on the outer corners of your eyes, or as a liner. Also if this colour isn’t for you, I would recommend checking out the other colours in the line as the formula is just so good. I already have my eye on Copper!

What do you guys think? Would you pick up one of the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow?
