Finding a wedding venue can be difficult; things like budgets, capacity & just the general ‘feel’ of a venue can be hard to get right! After spending months going to wedding open days, booking venue viewings & getting an idea for what type of wedding we were looking for, there’s a long list of venues we didn’t choose.
Josh & I live in Hampshire, so we have been looking for venues close-ish to home. It wasn’t too important for me about the location, but we both didn’t want it to be difficult for our wedding guests to travel to. Josh & I have now booked our venue, which although is basically on our doorstep, I never thought of until my mum mentioned it off hand after another one of our long internet searching sessions looking for venues. Now I am a little further down the line of wedding planning, I can also say it has been really helpful booking a venue close to home. It’s brilliant working with local vendors & suppliers, never having to travel far for wedding meetings or catch-ups.
In this video I mention 5 venues that just weren’t right for us, if they were/are right for you – brilliant! This is not a video ‘bashing’ any venue, simply sharing the things we found in our venue hunting.
Venues mentioned:
Burley Manor
Audley’s Wood Hotel
Southdown’s Manor
Syrencot
Froyle’s Park
