When I was in Devon last week, with Josh’s family, we spent a lot of time on the beach. Although I love the sun & sea, the harsh British coast can take its toll on your hair & skin. I had always noticed that my hair could get a lot drier & frizzier after a day at the beach, but never really thought there was much I could do about it. Turns out, the people at Aveda have also noticed it & have out their minds to formulating some awesome haircare just to combat it!
Aveda Sun Care Hair & Body Cleanser
One product I truly loved using after time at the beach was the Aveda Sun Care Hair & Body Cleanser. It was lovely having a one-stop-shop formula to gently and effectively remove chlorine, salt and product residue from head to toe. The cleanser helps deeply moisturise sun-exposed hair and skin using the purifying & reparative formula rich in Corn-derived chelator & a Babassu-derived cleansing system. As I used the cleanser before the masque in the Aveda Sun Care Set & so loved the fact that it also has the same floral fragrance; great to have the matching set. The cleanser also uses the ultra-moisturising powers of Tamanu and organic Coconut Oils to keep hair smooth & skin soft.
Aveda Sun Care After-Sun Hair Masque
If you know me, you know I love a good intensive cream treatment for the hair. This masque is exactly that. Restoring, repairing and intensely moisturising sun-exposed hair in a flash; this masque is one of the most nourishing I have ever used. Personally I hadn’t tried much from Aveda before exploring the products in this Sun Care Set, but after using the Sun Care After-Sun Hair Masque I know I have to try more. The brand say this masque is formulated with hair-strengthening morikue protein (whatever that is?!), Tamanu Oil (which again, not sure what it is, but sounds divine) and certified organic Coconut Oil (know what that is, and hair loves it). The masque helps to restore hair which has had a little too much sun, sea & fun, whilst replenishing moisture for improved elasticity – something my hair struggles with. The other awesome thing about the masque is that it uses the anti-oxidising benefits of Aveda’s exclusive blend of Green Tea, organic Sunflower Oil and Vitamin E. These ingredients work in tandem to protect hair against things at the beach that can cause real problems like colour loss. Wave goodbye to UV damage, salt or chlorine ruining your do!
The Aveda Sun Care Set is exactly what you want with you on your holidays to keep skin & hair in tip top condition. In fact, I love the scent & effects of the products so much, I might have started using them on my holidays, but I have continued using them since I have been home too.
