Melissa Faux Makeup Bag Review

This week I am down in Devon with Josh for a little getaway. We packed the car full of products I have to photograph (it’s a working holiday for me), fruit from the local greengrocers, cosy jumpers & about a billion cameras.

I always hate packing for trips in the car. I find when I have the extra space of the car, I completely over pack. So this trip I told myself I was just going to take the essentials beauty wise. I limited myself to only everyday makeup because, let’s face it; I’m not really going to be wearing much makeup this week anyway.

I packed all my absolute favourite products into my new Melissa Faux Alien cosmetics bag. I have been lusting after Melissa’s designs for such a log time, so it was great to finally try out one of her products. Melissa’s cosmetic bags feature her designs digitally printed onto canvas, for the most beautiful, chic feel. Melissa designs and hand makes her products at her studio in Kelvedon, England and are all bespoke and one of kind. The Alien print cosmetics bag was originally created from watercolours, and then is digitally printed onto the perfectly sized canvas bag.

Not only do I love the design of the makeup bag, but I was also really happy with the quality of the product. The 100% organic cotton canvasis thick, yet soft; allowing you to pack in that all important extra eyeliner or lipstick. The bag is also fully lined with a poly cotton blend fabric, which is easy to wipe and helps contain any spillages.

The Alien print cosmetics print has now sold out on Melissa’s site, but I would highly recommend checking out the other designs on offer HERE. I have added everything in my current makeup bag to the bottom of this post if you’re interested. I would also love to know if you’re an over-packer too? Or could you narrow it down to one makeup bag like I have? Let me know in the comments!
