If you’ve been around Made From Beauty for a while, you’ll know my favourite type of makeup is more on the natural side. I’m a sucker for glossy skin, luminous complexions and soft blush & contour. If I’m honest, this probably comes from my lack of makeup skill. I know, I know, probably not the best thing for a beauty blogger to admit. Whilst I wouldn’t say I’m clueless about makeup, I certainly cannot fathom how to do ‘Instagram Makeup’. Which is fine by me; but does sometimes mean I don’t experiment with colour as much as I’d like.
I’m currently going through a bit of an aversion to eyeshadow. Be it a left over reaction to the hot weather in the UK, or my lack of patience, (probably a bit of both), I just haven’t worn it in months. So I’ve turned to blush to give me a pop of colour in my makeup.
Normally blush doesn’t really excite me too much. It’s kind of one of those things I add at the last minute because I think I should. That was until I found the new Illamasqua Color Veil blushes. These are everything I could ever want in a blush. First, I love a good cream blush anyway, so the gel texture of these little pots of luminous colour is exactly up my street. The Illamasqua Color Veil blushes are formulated with the same bouncy, hydrating texture as the brand’s best-selling Hydra Veil Primer. And just like the primer, the jelly blushers feel comfortable and refreshing on application.
If you’re in to barely-there makeup, like me, you’ll love how these super pigmented blushers blend seamlessly onto the skin, without leaving you looking ‘overdone’. Illamasqua say ‘the blush has self-levelling properties’ (whatever that means), but I guess that’s what keeps them looking fresh and airbrushed on the skin, with zero caking.
The shades I have from the collection are Tonic; a stunning peachy coral and Frisson; a cool toned, pink/mauve, perfect for the cooler months. When it comes to application you can use a brush, a Beauty Blender, or your fingers – totally up to you, all result in a stunning, nicely blended flush.
What do you guys think of the new Illamasqua Color Veil blushes? Are they something that take your fancy? Let me know in the comments!
