As a self-confessed beauty addict, and a totally skincare junkie, it might shock you to hear that I haven’t ever really explored Dermalogica before. That wasn’t until the brand got in touch & asked if I would like to receive a few items. So, I gladly accepted & quickly started putting the products through their paces:
The first thing I have to say about this product is how did I not know about it before?! The PreCleanse oil is exactly the type of cleanser I love and my whole routine has changed since adding this to my bathroom shelf! The formula uses nourishing olive, apricot and kukui nut oils to break makeup & SPF’s down in a flash. I massage the oil onto dry skin, the use a warm flannel to remove all the product. Although the PreCleanse can also transform into a milky emulsion with a little water, I prefer to use it as just an oil.
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Normally I would shy away from gel cleansers, I have previously spoken about my love of cream cleaners in THIS post, but there are a few reasons why I love this cleanser. Firstly, it is soap free, which means it never leaves skin tight or dehydrated. I have also been a fan of the light weight refreshing gel formula of this cleanser in the hotter weather.
The way I have been using the Special Cleansing Gel is, after my first cleanse with the PreCleanse, as my second cleanse at night. I wet my hands & face, then rub the gel all over to get every scrap of dirt & makeup off. Soothing Lavender and Balm Mint
Your skin will feel refreshed, cleansed and with no tightness after using. Special Cleansing Gel will gently remove impurities from your skin without disturbing the skin’s natural moisture balance. The Special Cleansing Gel uses lavender and balm mint to soothe & keep it hydrated whilst cleansing. Being Dermalogica, the Special Cleansing Gel is also formulated without artificial fragrances & colours, making it great for sensitive skin.
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream
I had previously shared my love for the Skin Smoothing Cream in THIS Instagram video & I am still loving it! I love a good hydrating moisturiser & the Skin Smoothing Cream doesn’t disappoint with it’s rich, yet non-greasy, formula. I love the fact that this moisturiser is formulated without artificial fragrances & colours, so I never have to worry about it breaking me out & I can wear it under makeup every day.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know I have loved the Dermalogica AGE Smart Daily Superfoliant for a little while now. So I was super excited to try out the brands Daily Microfoliant. This is the award winning, best-selling daily exfoliant out of the two, so I had high hopes. I have really enjoyed giving the Daily Microfoliant a go, but I think I prefer the AGE Smart Daily Superfoliant if I had to choose. For my skin, this product is just a tiny bit too gentle & doesn’t actually slough away what I need an exfoliator to. This product used rice bran to brighten & smoothe the complexion, and I would recommend it to people with sensitive skin.
Dermalogica AGE Smart SkinPerfect Primer SPF 30
The final Dermalogica product I have been trying out is a primer; and the brands best-selling primer at that! The AGE Smart SkinPerfect Primer with SPF 30 has been in my makeup bag for about a month now & I’ve been blown away by a few things, so here goes…
First, the primer manages to make my skin look so healthy and beautiful all on it’s own – something some of my foundations seem to struggle to do, so really that’s a miracle!
Secondly, I don’t think my makeup has ever looked as good as it does with this primer underneath.
The AGE Smart SkinPerfect Primer illuminates the complexion, whilst also smoothing away fine lines and large pores effortlessly. This primer’s glow is all from the pearl powder and natural earth minerals in the formula that give you a natural tint & lit-from-within look. Dermalogica have also added peptides and the AGE Smart ‘actives’ into the primer to help firm and shield against free radical damage throughout the day.
Have you tried many Dermalogica products? I am so glad I have finally explored the brand more & found some really stand-out products.
Sam
