Final Thoughts on the Dyson Supersonic HairdryerIf you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I received the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer back in March for my birthday. After using the hairdryer for a good amount of time, I am finally ready to share my final thoughts.

After seeing so much about the hairdryer online, I couldn’t wait to try one of the most exciting, but expensive beauty gadgets on the market. If you know anything about the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer, then you’ve probably heard about the £300 price tag. The price of this hairdryer has become one of the most talked about things in the beauty world. And, yes it is expensive. It might even be a bit too expensive. But taking away the price, this hairdryer has so much more to offer.

Firstly I’m just going to say something that you probably shouldn’t say about birthday presents; I didn’t like it. For the first month of using the hairdryer I couldn’t control the drying process. My hair just seemed to fly around everywhere, and I couldn’t ever get the dryer to smooth my hair out. But after practicing and using the dryer for about 2 months I had finally mastered it.

Now I can safely say that my hair has improved in overall texture and health since using the hairdryer. As I have very dry, frizzy, curly hair normally I couldn’t go out without drying & then straightening or curling my hair. So it has been life changing to just be able to blow dry my hair and go. One of the reasons why I found it so hard to get to grips with the hairdryer is probably the speed the dryer dries my hair. With another hairdryer, I have always had a long time to style and smooth as I go, but the Supersonic dryer is so fast it took a little while to perfect my technique. With my previous hairdryer, it took me about 10 minutes of full heat to fully dry my hair, now with the Dyson it takes half that time.

I use all the attachments on my Dyson Supersonic, but I have to say the smoothing attachments have to be my favourites. I use the slightly wider attachment, the ‘Smoothing Nozzle’, to dry most of my hair, before switching to the thinnest, the ‘Styling Concentrator’, to really smooth out the hair. These attachments really let you direct the heat, and the fast stream of air perfectly, leaving you with truly smooth, shiny hair without the frizz. The attachments are magnetic, which worried me at first, as I thought I would knock one off with my brush or something when blowdrying, but I haven’t found this to be a problem at all.

I have also been blown away (sorry, I didn’t mean to make that pun) with the cold shot function on the hairdryer too. Never before have a come across a hairdryer that can instantly give you a cold shot of air like the Dyson. This is of course instantly refreshing after blowdrying, but also helps smooth the hair follicles after using the heat of the dryer, for smoother, shinier hair.

All in all, do I think the Dyson Supersonic is worth the price? For me, yes. It has cut the time I spend styling my hair in half. My hair genuinely feels softer, healthier and smoother after using it consistently. Also the time I used to spend slaving away with my ghd’s (causing horrendous damage to my hair) has been dramatically reduced. So what are you thoughts on the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer?
