If you’ve seen my first YouTube video HERE, you’ll know that I have been loving some recent products I picked up from the Dolce and Gabbana makeup line.
As I said in my video, I have been blown away by the quality and luxuriousness of the products. Although the products are expensive, they truly some of the best products I have invested in in a long time.
The first product that started the whole Dolce and Gabbana kick was the Perfect Finish Powder Foundation. I had read a little about this product in a glossy magazine and the review they gave was absolutely glowing. So being the beauty researcher I am at heart, I took to the internet to look up reviews from real people using this product, swatches and before & after photos. Honestly there wasn’t a huge amount of reviews or information online. The reviews I could find, however, did make the product out to be pretty good. So I took the plunge & brought the Perfect Finish Powder Foundation and a couple of other products.
Nothing could have prepared me for the beauty of the Perfect Finish Powder Foundation. I had used powder foundations a little in the past, but had previously found them too chalky or matte. So finding that the Perfect Finish Powder Foundation gave me a great medium coverage, whilst still giving my skin a fresh glow, all in a powder formula was groundbreaking! The powder has to be the most finely milled, soft, smooth powder I have ever tried – and that isn’t a statement I say lightly.
The powder is lovely applied on bare skin (I like to use a moisturiser or primer to help it ‘stick’ if I’m doing this), and gives a natural light to medium coverage which is buildable and blendable. But my favourite way to use the Perfect Finish Powder Foundation is as a setting powder over a liquid foundation or tinted moisturiser. The soft, airbrushed finish the powder foundation gives it addictive, so I love it over light coverage bases for day to day. The powder also has the added benefit of lasting all day – much better than any other powder foundation I have ever tried.
So with the deep love of the Perfect Finish Powder Foundation already cemented in my heart, I could wait to try out the Glow Bronzing Powder. And, you guessed it…it’s amazing! I had to put this product in my recent favourites video too because I have been reaching for this each and everyday.
Again I find the Glow Bronzing Powder to be finely milled, super blendable and smooth. There is no chance of this powder going patchy or wearing off throughout the day, it is just stunning.
I brought my bronzer in the shade Sunshine; which when I opened it, I was a little scared I had made the wrong choice. As the Dolce and Gabbana makeup is exclusive to Harrods in the UK, I hadn’t seen any of the shades beforehand. So opening Sunshine, I was worried it was going to be too orange or deep for my skin tone. Actually, it is one of the most natural bronzers I have ever tried because it had red tones. The red undertone means it looks like you have just caught the sun slightly around the parameters of the face – beautiful!
The last product I have tried from the range is the Sheer Shine Gloss in Seduction. I can’t say I was blown away by this product. Although the gloss is nice, sticky enough to stay on the lips but comfortable to wear; it just isn’t anything special. I think there are lots of lipglosses out there that are comparable for a lot less pennies!
So what do you think of the Dolce and Gabbana makeup I have tried? Any of the products that your fancy? Let me know in the comments below!

You look gorgeous! I’ll have to try that bronzing powder, I’m always looking for a natural bronzer.
