Can you believe it’s Christmas Eve? I have no idea where this week has gone, I’m nowhere near ready for tomorrow, between working (until seven tonight as well boo) having family staying with us, and trying to get good content up for you guys, I’m exhausted! It’s always a shame that if you have to work, or you’re not really ready for Christmas, you start to wish it had all never started.
There is one thing though that I’m looking forward to; my Christmas day makeup. I’m somebody who loves to take my time getting ready on Christmas day. I like to listen to festive songs and dance around whilst trying to apply my winged liner (I know I just make things harder for myself)!
So last night I had a test run of my Christmas Day makeup and thought I’d share it with you.
On the skin I’ve gone for a new drugstore favourite of mine, the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation. I’ve been loving this base because it’s natural, medium coverage and healthy looking. On the cheeks I’ve popped some bronzer from the Anastasia Contour Kit, with a pop of bright pink blush from H&M. Brows are very strong, I got a little carried away with my Anastasia Dip Brow! Lips is a mixture of MACs Modesty and a pink lip liner.
But it’s the eyes that really steel the show! I’ve smoked things out with different browns from my MAC palette (you can read all about it here) to create depth in the crease and outer lid area. on the inner lid and centre I’ve used one of my favourite makeup items ever, the Stila Magnificent Metal Eyes in Comex Gold. Is there anything most festive than this?!
For liner I used one of my new favourite liners, the L’Oreal Superliner Superstar. The nib on this liner is perfect, allowing you to create a winged liner easily and plus, the liner stays black all day and doesn’t budge – whats there not to love?
On Christmas day I’ll probably wear a pair of false eyelashes to amp this look up even more, but for today I just stuck with mascara. The new Maxfactor Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara has been slowly making its way up in the makeup ranks in my collection recently, I actually really like it!
So what are your plans for Christmas day? Do you too like to spend your time getting ready, or is the big day an excuse for a makeup free day? Let me know in the comments below!
Merry Christmas
