Things have got seriously Christmasy in our flat recently. Although Josh isn’t the biggest Christmas fan, I love putting the tree up and getting all festive!
When we moved into our flat last year we decided to go down the real tree route and we’ve done the same this year. There’s something so special about a real tree, it fills the room with pine fragrance and really creates a lovely atmosphere.
When it comes to decorations, I’m firmly against tinsel – I hate the bloody stuff! So last year I spent an awful lot (shameful amounts) on beautiful glass baubles from The White Company. I’m trying to be good this year as money’s tight, but there are so many beautiful tree decorations out there at the moment, like these Clear Glass Silver & Pearl Christmas Baubles!
This year is a strange one. My family lost someone this year and Christmas isn’t going to be the same without them. You know when someone leaves a hole that can’t be filled? So this year we are celebrating a little smaller than previous years. But I’m trying to see this as a time to be thankful for the people we have, the laughs still to come and the songs to be sung…
On the tree I’ve gone for a the most Christmasy of colours, red, white and silver. There are some special editions like these beautiful Santas from my nan
and this little tin angel heart that always reminds me of Josh – I’ve had it for as long as we’ve been together.
Have you gone for a theme with your Christmas tree and do you agree with me about tinsel? Let me know in the comments below.
Merry Christmas all, thank you for reading Made From Beauty, thank you for making each and everyday a little brighter!

I am also against tinsels, they just don’t look good on the tree! Every year we get at least one special ornament and hopefully soon our tree will be full of memories! We haven’t gone for any theme, we just like to decorate it however we feel like :)

I agree with you about tinsel, I think it’s a bit tacky tbh. I love your Christmas decorations, they look simple yet effective. Gorgeous colour scheme. xx
