I’ve been having a bit of a thing with the colour blue at the moment, wearing navy blue eye liner often, lusting after these cute shoes from ASOS and rotating different shades of the gorgeous colour on my nails.
The first blue polish I’ve been reaching for is Essie’s Mezmerised, a beautiful dark blue. Just on the right side of navy, with enough brightness to still be perfect on the fingers for summer time. Whenever I wear this I always get some lovely compliments, and it’s easy to see why. A chic colour that makes a statement without being too over the top.
But if it is a navy your after then I would suggest the Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint in Drive Me Navy. A true navy, perfectly understated and great for special occasions or nail art. I am undecided about this formula though, you can read my full review here. Am I convinced it’s daylight curing? Maybe not… Is it the best drugstore nail polish formula out there? Maybe not… Have you tried this formula? I’d love to know your thoughts.
Another Barry M offering in the blue category is their Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blueberry. About two years ago the beauty world was abuzz with talk of this shade and beauty bloggers everywhere were dying to get their hands on this stunning cornflower blue colour. Two years on, and I love this shade and formula just as much! The Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints go in easily and give the illusion of salon gel nails at home.
I’ve also been loving the Rimmel Salon Pro in Navy Seal. A really pretty dusky blue, which is actually a really unusual colour. I love this colour especially for the toes as it seems to enhance a tan, look neat and chic whilst being so easy to apply. In fact, the Rimmel Salon Pro nail varnishes are some of my favourites at the drugstore; gorgeous colours coupled with a thick, rounded brush and silky formula. Expect a perfect manicure in just two easy coats!
Finally, the last colour I’ve been returning to recently is Nails Inc. in Chelsea Physic Garden. It’s just what I need to perk up my hands when the summer dresses come out and the jumpers go away. A bright pastel blue with a white base, this shade will really enhance a tan; it’s the sort of shade that really screams summer.
So have you been reaching for any particular hue of nail polish recently? Or am I just stuck in a rut? Let me know in the comments below!
