Made From Beauty Revlon HD Lipsticks

It’s been a little while since Revlon released something that I was really excited for. But their new Ultra HD Lipsticks have really hit it out of the park!

Lets talk shades:

There are some great shades for everyone in this collection, ranging from brown nudes, rosey nudes, pretty pinks, right through to bright corals and reds. The colours I picked up where 830 Rose a pink rose shade, 860 Hibiscus a peach with a touch of orange, and the stunning 855 Geranium a reddy coral.Made From Beauty Revlon HD Lipsticks SwatchesHere I have swatched the colours from left to right, 855 Geranium, 830 Rose and 860 Hibiscus.

Here I am wearing 855 Geranium

And the texture?

This is where these lipsticks really come into their own. Formulated without wax, they apply in a gel like fashion leaving weightless, comfortable colour. The way the colours wear throughout the day is also great, no patchiness or uneven colour to be seen here! They have a sheen to them, not matte, not glossy, meaning they are great for those who favor a traditional lipstick finish. The formula is smooth, creamy and oh so easy to apply!

Any favourites?

My favourite has to be 830 Rose by far, it is a stunning nude option for everyday wear. I have been slapping this shade on almost everyday since I brought them, either on its own or with MAC’s Subculture lipliner for a really pouty look. I was also really pleasantly surprised by 855 Geranium! On my skin tone it doesn’t show as bright as it is in the bullet, which is great, as it makes it a more wearable coral for the day – something we all know I’m loving at the moment!

Come on, there must be some downsides?

There is one major draw back to these lippys, I’m sad to say! The packaging. I’m sorry Revlon, but whoever thought this packaging was a good idea needs to take a rain check! The bullet of the lipstick doesn’t wind down fully, which makes it a pain to pop the lid on and off without nicking the lipsticks and smearing the soft formula all over those pretty clear lids! Other than that, I have been really impressed with these, and the only other thing would be that 830 Rose is the most glossy of the shades I picked up, so it does need reapplication throughout the day. But that kind of goes with the territory of most nude lipsticks.

So there you have it, in my opinion, any woman looking for a new lippy should check these out! What do you think?
