L'Oreal La Palette Nude BeigeThe highstreet is ablaze with affordable eyeshadows at the moment. With their launch of the La Palette Nude Rose earlier this year, it wasn’t long until L’Oreal brought out a more wearable, neutral palette – in comes the La Palette Nude Beige edition.

I heard some really mixed reviews about the Rose edition if this palette, and amongst all of L’Oreal’s work with bloggers, it’s sometimes hard to find the truth with all that fluff flying around. Some people weren’t all that impressed with the shadow quality, claiming that they were chalky with little pay off, yet others sang the praises of the palette for all that colour choice at a reasonable price. So for me, as I’m not a big fan of pink or mauve tones on the eyes, I thought I’d wait to try the palette out once the price had come down, or once there was a different version more up my street.

So I was pleased to see the Beige version hit the shelves recently! Bronzey colours, with warm and cool tones, some matte and some shimmers, a whole host of wareable, everyday shadows.

Let’s look at the packaging first; I am really impressed with L’Oreal getting in ten shadows into this super sleek, minimal, slim palette. Inside you get a great sized mirror, perfect for applying these shadows when travelling. You also get a brush with the palette and unfortunately its pretty useless. Why do brands still bother with these horrible foam applicators?! Also the small bristle brush included really isn’t L’Oreal’s best effort, not much help for smoking out shadows at all.

On to the best part about the palette; the shades! The colours included really are great. A wide range from light to dark and all wearable in my opinion, apart from one. That nasty yellow gold in the middle is the only let down shade wise in the palette for me.

I must admit the colour pay off isn’t the best I have ever found at the drugstore, (check out this post to find out what is) but you can use the shadows wet to get more out of them, just like I have here:Me wearing L'Oreal La Palette Nude BeigeI have swatched the colours left to right:

Swatches of L'Oreal La Palette Nude BeigeAs you can see, the first shade, which could be your highlight shade for under the brow, doesn’t really show up on my skin, so that’s a bit of a shame. But apart from the yellow gold shade and this light highlight shade, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of all the rest.

It is important to bare in mind that although this palette is one of the first we have seen with this shade selection on the highstreet, it is still £14.99, not exactly cheap.

I would say though if you are someone who likes to play about with new looks, but are still after neutral colours this palette would be a good choice for you.

Have you already picked up the L’Oreal La Palette Nude Beige? Or maybe you have the Rose version in your collection? I’d love to know what you think, let me know in the comments.
