I love coral lipsticks, something about them just really makes me feel girly and fun. They give me more confidence than a red any day! But corals are usually reserved for the summer, so it’s been a long time since they’ve been on the makeup agenda. As the weather starts to slowly (painfully slowly) warm up in the UK, I’m ignoring the rules and starting to reach for my corals!
The first coral lip product I picked up, a pretty long time ago now, is the Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick in Peach On The Beach. A vibrant peach shade that sets off a tan perfectly. The way I’ve been wearing it in the colder months is just blotted into the lips with bronzed skin and a copper toned eye. This glossy colour has a tendency to go a bit milky, so just make sure you top up on the moisture before you apply this one.
Next is my favourite coral I have in my collection, The Body Shops Colour Crush lipstick in number 18. I love to wear this colour paired with lots of The Body Shops Honey Bronzer on the high points of the face. At this time of year I find you really need the help of a little bronzer to pull off a coral.
If you liked that Body Shop lipstick then your going to love this Collection Lasting Colour lipstick in Passionfruit. Very similar in shade to my favourite Body Shop lippy, this one just comes off a little more opaque. There’s a hint of silver glitter in this formula too, which on paper sounds awful, but it doesn’t really translate all that much to the lips.
Last but not least, is a coral which isn’t strictly a coral; Rimmel’s Moisture Renew Lipstick in In Love With Ginger. A bright pop of orangey red, surely this falls into the sort of coral category? I find this colour to be the easiest to wear all year round, although I can’t wait to get a bit if sun on my cheeks to really compliment thiscolour.
Let me know in the comments if coral lips are something you’ve been rocking recently, I’d love you know how you’ve been wearing them!
