So this is the turning point guys. This is when things start to change. Today I’m sharing with you a few things I picked up from Primark on Oxford Street, and there’s sort of a running theme…
First up was this workout top. I’m joining the gym this weekend, going all in, gym and swim. I’m a keen swimmer and have been for most of my life, this gym thing is pretty new to me. My goal isn’t a physical look, or a size, not even a weight; it’s just that I’d like to be able to go for a jog. At the moment I’d be lucky if I could make it to the end if the road, but that’s got to change. I’m 22, and not being able to run to the end of your own street is a big problem. I’m starting out with the gym so I can use the machines and bikes because after not doing any exercise for a very long time, my knees are a little worse for wear. I actually took up jogging everyday last year, and three weeks in did some serious damage to my knees, so after one embarrassing doctors trip, a week being crippled and some pain killers I just gave up. That cannot happen this time, it just can’t.
After being relatively impressed with Primark’s work out range, I was on the hunt for another gym top and settled on this black one with blue accents.
My second purchase was probably the most glamorous and exciting: a swimming cap. I’ll be taking up swimming several times a week, and all that chlorine really isn’t good for your hair so a swimming cap was my only option. Saying that, I’m not sure if I can actually bring myself to wear one. So when I stumbled across this one for £1.50 I thought it would be worth giving a go. I honestly can’t wait to get back into swimming, and once I have a membership there’s no excuse!
To match my mint green swimming cap, I went for this yoga mat (because if I ever want to get all flexible whilst wearing my swimming cap, at least I know I’ll look cute!) Now, I’ve never attempted yoga, and I’m not completely sure I will, it’s Pilates that really interests me. When I saw this for £5 it was hard to resist. Sure, it’s not the best quality, but it might just get me started!
And then, as if my matching swimming cap and yoga mat weren’t enough, I brought this grey and mint sports bra. Don’t worry, I know this will not give me enough support for the gym, but I thought if I really do take up a little yoga and Pilates on the side this would work quite nicely. It’s also grey and mint.
Did I mention it’s grey and mint?
That is one of my favourite colour combinations at the moment, so surely that makes it all the more amazing?
And the last item I brought is actually the background to this photo, this really lovely throw. I am still so shocked that this was only £5.00! Why?! Its made from thick knit fabric, sporting this striking print that makes a statement on our sofa, without adding colour (we’re all about the monochrome in our living room).
So let me know what you think about the bits I picked up? Also has anyone actually worn the Primark workout pieces? And I mean like really worn…I want to know are they a sort of replace every month kinda range? Or do they actually last pretty well? I am thinking of picking a few more items but I don’t want them to just fall apart! Let me know if you have any advice in the comments below.
