Today’s Valentine’s Day, and although it’s a day for lovers it’s also a day to love yourself. No matter what you’re doing today may I recommend a little me time.
I’ve got some lovely little treats to either get you in the mood for loving (sorry that didn’t sound as saucy in my head) or to give your body the love and attention it deserves.
Number one on my list is a facemask. You’ll feel great if your skins at its best for that hot date or if you’re just at home on the sofa like me. I recommend the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to clear skin of the week’s nasties.
Next up don’t forget the hair. I often pop on a hair mask at the same time as my facemask to cut down the beauty time. The one I’m using at the moment is the Philip Kingsley Elasticiser and I love it. Wet your hair and pop it on, in half an hour you’ll have the smoothest, glossiest hair in the world.
Now it’s time to jump in the shower. Remove your face and hair masks, then turn your attention to the body. A scrub is great at this time of year to reveal healthy smooth skin under those winter scales. May I suggest the Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub?
Once out, slather the body with a rich moisturiser like the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Moisturizing Body Treatment or one of The Body Shops Body Butters, my favourite is the peach scent.
If you’re out on the town with the girls tonight choose a bright Valentine’s Day themed colour for your nails. Today I’m wearing Nails Inc’s Tate polish, one of my all time favourite shades.
The rest is up to you! If you’re staying in with your love or your family get into your pjs! Take tonight to chill out and be thankful for the people who love you, hang out in your pjs and make a hot chocolate.
But if you’ve got a big night out planned with the girls there are a few extras I would recommend…
No one has time to fake tan at this time of year, so of you’ve been caught out too try a layer of Rimmels Sunshimmer Instant Tan + BB Perfector to give your arms and legs a beautifully bronzed look.
And what Valentine’s night would be complete without a kiss proof lipstick? I would suggest the Rimmel Provocalips Lip Colour in Kiss Me You Fool, because you know, it is Valentine’s Day!
Or you could choose a nude lip like the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner Eastend Snob topped with Barry M’s Lip Gloss Wands in No 2, then you can kiss away all night long and your kisses won’t tell!
Whatever you’re doing I hope you have an amazing Valentine’s Day!
Sam
