With Valentines Days just around the corner I thought I would put together a slightly unconventional post about His and Hers skincare. So before you all officially meet Josh, my boyfriend, why not get to know his skincare regime? Naturally! If you’re looking for last minute gift ideas with a beauty focus, or just fancy a nose around mine and Josh’s medicine cabinet, then you’ve come to the right place!
I have stuck to just my morning skincare routine, otherwise this post could get too long and Josh doesn’t switch his up morning and night anyway…
So starting out with cleansers:
For her:
I know I have recently raved about my love of the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm, but I thought I should give this little pot of clean skin another pat on the back. I am still going on my smaller 50ml tub, although I am dangerously about to run out and face the ever terrifying decision of repurchase.
For him:
This might not be exactly what I would choose for Josh, but he seems to love this Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash. The reason why I’m not a massive fan of this is because I find it a little stripping on the skin (yes I’ve tried it too) but as Josh has acne prone, oily skin I can see why he likes it as if leaves the skin very clean.
For her:
I have been recently using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo in the mornings because I suffer with clogged pore. My skin being pretty normal, sometimes slightly oily, I find this moisturiser helps keep any small blemishes at bay gently throughout the day.
For him:
I can understand why some men find it very hard to find a moisturiser that doesn’t leave their skin shinny and slippery, I mean it’s not like their popping on their foundations straight after like us are they ladies? So I think this is actually a great choice for lots of men, the Body Shop Maca Root Balancing Face Protector. This is targeted to Josh’s skin concerns and I think it helps when he uses it! Do you have the same problem with the man in your life? I am constantly nagging Josh that his skin is dry, poor guy!
And the treatments:
For her:
I have been using this Boots Botanics Radiance Concentrate All Bright Serum in the mornings to help with some of the uneven tone I have on my skin. If you read my eye makeup remover post recently, you will know I am a fan of the Boots Botanics skincare range and this serum is no exception. Am I sure it is helping the tone of my skin? Well…I am not convinced just yet, but I have only been using it a few weeks, so I’ll report back soon.
For him:
This was originally mine, cheeky! The Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel is something Josh pops on when he gets a large, under the skin blemish and I must say, this thing really works! High in salicylic acid, the gel really dries out the spot even before it has reached the surface.
For her:
I may have a few extra extras than Josh, but I love skincare, my awfully expensive addiction. Evidence of this addiction has to be my Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist. A radiance inducing, rich in essential oils and fragrance mist that I use every morning to wake me up, cool my skin off and perk my eyes up. I also use an eye cream every morning and night, if I’m honest I have become a little obsessed with keeping my eye area as plumped as possible. The eye cream I am currently using is the Caudalíe S.O.S Morning Eye Rescue, I am not in love with it just yet, but it does the job and works well under makeup. And finally for me, I like to mix up my serums depending on my skin concern of the day, and that’s where the Una Brennan Glow Boost Skin Serum comes in. With a slight pearlescence, this serum instantly brightens my skin, whilst providing a kick of moisture.
For him:
The Bull Dog Original Face Scrub is a product Josh has been using for years and as manual exfoliants go, I think this is a nice one. The pumice really scrubs away dirt and dead skin, whilst the eight essential oils condition and soften the skin. For a budget option, this scrub is actually packed full of good quality ingredients.
With valentines day just around the corner, Josh and I would love to know what everyone’s up to, we are a little stuck for ideas! Would love you suggestions!
Sam
