No not your clothing people, calm down! Your makeup, or more specifically, your eye makeup. Today we are talking all about eye makeup removers, as I’ve been trying out some new ones recently. So lets whizz down the list of my eye-cleaner-up-ers:
First up is one that you absolutely have to go and buy. You have my complete permission to step away from your computer, put down your tablet, stop reading now and go and buy this! Botanics All Bright Eye Soothing Eye Makeup Remover from Boots has to be one of the best removers I’ve tried in a long time. The bio-phase action means you shake up the oil and watery solution to create a cooling, soothing miracle worker for waterproof mascaras and liquid eyeliners alike. Great to use all across the lid, or on a cotton bud at the root of the lashes to get rid off every scrap of makeup. Why are you still reading? Go get it girl!
Next up isn’t the most sophisticated of formulas, the Waitrose own Pure Eye Makeup Remover. I picked this one up on a whim recently, intrigued with the ridiculously tiny price tag (Its £1.99 people!) and enticed by the cute packaging. It will get your makeup off, maybe not one to use if you have a ton of glitter or a stubborn mascara, but it can get the job done for light makeup. I will be using this one for cleaning up mistakes with a cotton bud when creating detailed eye looks.
In at number three is a surprise favourite, the Rimmel Just Let It Go…Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. After hearing ViviannaDoesMakeup rave about this one here and here, I thought it must be worth giving a go. And boy was that girl right. Isn’t she always? This cheap, dinky bottle of removing goodness does what it says on the tin bottle: gets your makeup off. No stinging, barely any rubbing, quick and easy. A winner with me!
Last up isn’t strictly a eye makeup remover. ‘So why include it in this post?’ I hear you ask, well…thats because I don’t like it as an all over makeup remover. Often compared to Bioderma (I wouldn’t know, haven’t tried the stuff) the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water’s intended use is for all over the face. However, I find that it dries out my skin if I use it like that. So for now I’ll be sticking to using it just for mascara removal and cleaning up liner mistakes. It is great value for money like that, but it does mean I’m stuck with a great, big bottle of the stuff whilst I use it up!
Tell me about your favourite eye makeup removers! Do you currently use any I have mentioned here?
