There really isn’t anything more satisfying for a makeup addict like me than creating a nicely chiseled, defined face. It all starts with the cheekbones, if you can get them down then your makeup will start to look more professional and truly finished. I must admit, I am not one to contour every day, I prefer a softer, more effortless look for the 9-5.
But when I’m looking for full on, Kim Kardashian glam, there is only one product. One product makeup artists and makeup lovers alike have been going crazy for, that’s the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. Forever sold out and difficult to find, I finally brought mine in a bit of panic. At 6.30 in the morning, half asleep, still in bed, seeing it was available on Cult Beauty’s website I frantically added it to my basket, a few months ago and things have been shaping up ever since!
An all powder palette of all the colours you could possibly need to highlight and contour the face. One of things I really love about this palette is that it works on a wide variety of skin tones, from light, to medium and dark.
At a glance, my two most used colours in the palette are Banana and Fawn, in centre, top and bottom. After lusting after the Ben Nye Banana Powder for years, the Banana powder in the palette finally fulfilled my longing for it. Just as the Ben Nye powder, this Banana powder really lifts the eye when used to set concealer, giving the illusion of the under eye being brighter.
My second most used powder in the palette has to be Fawn, a cool toned brown. This I use under the cheekbones, on the temples, down the sides of the nose and along the jawline to really carve out my features. If you read yesterdays post (Sam’s Wishlist) you’ll know I’m carrying a little more weight than usual, so I have been really relying on this powder to counteract that whole moon-face thing I’ve got going on at the moment. The coolness of this powder allows you to create a more realistic shadow, rather than relying on a bronzer to add shape to the face. Don’t worry; I’ll be popping up a contouring 101 tutorial soon!
All the powders in this palette blend beautifully and I personally think it is worth the money. I’ve got a lot of use out of the palette already, as you can see from my Instagram account! If you don’t already follow me there, then head on over and say hi!
