There have been a few wishlists (here and here) on MadeFromBeauty recently, but one that I really thought I should write is a Sam Wishlist. A wishlist to kick the ass of all wishlists. Forget pretty dresses and skincare sets, I am talking about a wishlist for me, one that really matters.
Small disclaimer here: we are about to get deep, just a little, we are talking life changes here – just a warning.
First up I would like to get healthy.
For me this starts with losing weight. There I said it. First thing, done. It’s a big one, no pun intended, but I would like to lose weight. I think as women, we are very often made to feel ashamed for wanting to lose weight, that we should embrace our curves and throw our heads up in the air like we don’t care and carry on. But I do care. And I am not ashamed about the fact that I want to lose weight. I want to enjoy my body again. I want to be able to buy a really tight pair of jeans and feel good enough to prance around my bedroom in them.
Honestly I have got to that point, I don’t feel good enough to prance. Not even with myself. And that, my friend, is not a good point to hit. Prancing should be encouraged at all times and certainly shouldn’t be avoided due to dress size.
Secondly, I would like to change my job.
My current employment makes me deeply unhappy and honestly that just isn’t the way I’d like to live. I would like a job that remotely challenges me intellectually – god I sound pretentious – but you know what I mean. Secondly on my list of job benefits would be that it pays enough for me to join the gym and buy my partner a coffee once a weekend without having to worry about the bank balance.
Thirdly I would like to change up my hair.
For those of you reading and a little uptight about the whole ‘getting deep thing’ you can relax now. It has been a good two years since I could afford to get my hair professionally dyed and I’d like that to change. Of course, this is directly linked to the second thing on my wishlist, making it maybe a little way off.
And finally I’d like to be happier.
Of course everyone would like to be a little happier. For me, apart from achieving the things on my wishlist, this also means being thankful. I am thankful for the support I have had setting up this blog, for my family of two fantastic women who love and support me and my partner who, apart from laughing at me taking selfies for this blog, lights up my day, everyday. Concentrating on being thankful for these things + a little more effort on my part = happiness. That’s the equation I’m working from here.
So tell me, what on your wishlist? You’re real wishlist.
Sam
