Being a beauty blogger with a bit of a soft spot for balm-y products, you would have thought I would have tried the ultimate in beauty balms; Lanolips.

Surely?

Well, not until recently. Call myself a beauty blogger, eh? I can’t quite believe it has taken me so long to try something from the Lanolips range. If only I’d known what I’d been missing out on.

Starting from the top – with the 101 Ointment, but with a twist; the Fruities line. The brand kindly gifted me the Strawberry 101 Ointment. Just like the original 101 Ointment, the Strawberry ‘flavour’ is formulated with medical grade lanolin (a soft wax which comes from domestic sheep that are raised specifically for their wool). Lanolin is what gives all Lanolips products their unique hydrating & protecting formula. It resembles our own skin oils, helping to restore moisture unlike anything else on the market. And you’ve all heard of how Hyaluronic Acid holds something-silly-like-100-times its weight in water; well Lanolin holds 200% of its weight in moisture! This one simple ingredient will super charge your beauty routine. The Strawberry 101 Ointment has the same hydration benefits as the original ointment, but with added Alpha Hydroxy Acid for smooth, supple lips all day long.

And if the Strawberry 101 Ointment didn’t have enough added pizzazz for you, then you need to check out the Lanolips Hydrating Lip Luminisers. This version has all the hydration of the ointments but with stunning colour & shine. Here I have the shade Beach Pop, a shimmering rose pink. I love this product when I have a tan; the almost coral pink adds to much brightness to the face & really makes bronzer pop.

But the Lanolips range isn’t only about the lips or the ointments, they have skincare products too. I’ve been reaching for the Lanolips Face Base Vitamin E Day Cream when my skin needs some extra moisture. This thick, luxurious cream delivers a heavy hit of hydration & is the perfect base for makeup, acting as the perfect glow-giving primer we all want. The basis for the cream is of course the antioxidant-rich vitamin E, which is personally one of my favourite ingredients for environmental protection – something we all have to think of in this day & age.

Then, probably my favourite product I have tried from the range so far, is the Lanolips Lemon Hand Cream Intense. If, like me, you have difficulty finding a hand cream that actually makes a lasting difference to you hands then look no further than this little tub of wonder. Firstly, I am crazy about the scent, I love anything lemon-y. But it’s the super thick, verging on sticky, formula that is the real winner here. I wouldn’t say this is the type of cream to carry in your handbag, as it takes a little while to sink in, but if you like to have a hand cream by your bed this will be just the ticket. I pop on a little blob before bed & massage in, paying particular attention to my cuticles. I always see a marked improvement in the look & feel of my hands by morning.

Have you tried anything from the Lanolips range? If you have any favourites, please let me know in the comments below.
