DSC_0694I’ve got some serious Instagram envy going on at the moment – everyone who’s anyone seems to be sunning themselves in the Hamptons or sipping cocktails in the Maldives, showing off their tans. But for the rest of us who are stuck in an office 9-5 we need a little extra help to sort out our pasty complexions. If, like me, you can find fake tanning a faff, there is a product out there for us lazy beauty buffs: the Timebomb Holiday in a Bottle*.

Around this time of year I find that although I catch a few rays on my arms and shoulders, it’s my face that always seems pastey and forgotten. There’s also nothing worse than applying your makeup and suddenly finding your about three shades lighter from the neck up, so I’ve found the solution in this product! Either underneath makeup or alone, the Timebomb Holiday in a Bottle manages to perk my skin up and fake that all important glow.

The product reminds me a lot of my beloved Garnier Miracle Skin Cream, which also gives skin an instant boost. Both products come out as a white cream with small pigment pearls suspended within, waiting to pop and deposit colour on to the skin. Whilst the Gariner cream is more of a ‘I can’t be bothered with actual makeup but want a little coverage’ product, the Timebomb Holiday in a Bottle in Sunkissed, for me, is more of an addition to my skincare routine.

I’ve found my favourite way to use the product is to gently rub it in with my fingertips before foundation. At first the product can look a little scary, as it instantly gives you a serious faux-glow (and the photo below is of the product on bare skin, without any foundation on top). But I find, especially during the warm weather, with a light layer of a seriously lightweight foundation like the Chanel Vitalumière Aqua over the top, I’ve got the perfect formulation for a lightly tanned, simple summer complexion without all the fuss.

As I have normal to dry skin, I can use this product in place of my normal moisturiser on a day to day basis or as an extra step if I’m going for the seriously glowy look. I find that the subtle colour stays all day underneath makeup, keeping my skin looking bronzed and healthy for hours. Bonus points for the fact you can also mix it in with your foundation to darken the shade also!

I know this will be a permeant fixture in my makeup/skincare stash for a while. I can also see that I might crack this one out when I actually get my bum to a beach of it’s own later this year (hands up if you want to see some more holiday makeup looks?). So have you ever tried the TIME BOMB Holiday In a Bottle, or a similar product? Let me know in the comments below!
