DSC_0261Hair hydration comes pretty high up on my list of beauty must-haves. Dealing with frizzy, curly hair in the heat can be bad enough, but add in a few frazzled ends and some lank lengths to the mix and you’ve got a recipe for dull, knotty hair that no one wants to tackle. So, as a beauty addict I am, collating a pretty extensive collection of hair masks to add a shot of moisture to my locks has become one of my favourite past-times.

Trying out the Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Mask* was this coarsely-haired girls dream. It’s thick, nourishing texture was just the ticket when my hair was looking a little lack-luster and I needed a little pick-me-up.

If you read YESTERDAYS POST then you’ll know I spent most of Saturday curled up with the new L’Oreal Masks on my face and my new hair treat working its magic on my hair.

DSC_0248First I washed my hair with my usual shampoo (currently the Redkin All Soft FYI and a very nice product it is too), before slathering this mask on thickly to my hair. There’s always something comforting when a hair mask is extra thick, in the same vein as a body butter, that rich texture instantly makes me think that I’m doing the best for my hair. I used about a palm sized dollop of the mask (because I’m the crazy mask lady who overuses hair masks all the time) and smoothed through damp hair.

DSC_0249The scent of this product is, of course, coconut, but a very sweet, summery coconut. I’ve been a fan of coconut scented hair products for a while, but often find that with most products once you’ve rinsed your hair that beautiful, holiday smell is long gone – not with this mask! I am delighted to report that the scent of this product hangs around on the hair all day, giving you a little hint of coconut with every swish.

Because I was feeling a little under the weather and was trying out some new products, I actually jumped out of the shower at this point and wrapped my hair, wet, covered in the mask, in a towel and snuggled down with netflix. This is something I like to do when I feel my hair needs an extra TLC. After about an hour of chill time I hop right back in the shower and rinse my hair clean. If you don’t have spare time to pamper then you can simply leave this mask on for five minutes in the shower, whilst you exfoliate or shave and rinse out straight away.DSC_0321

It was obvious straight away after using the mask that my hair was instantly softer, less tangled, and easier too manage. My hair felt truly nourished and stronger without being weighed down. As I struggle with frizzy hair normally I really notice when a product smoothes my hair, so when I began to dry my hair I was surprised to find how it had totally transformed my hair into a smooth, glossy mane with hardly any effort.

I would recommend this product so much for those who are looking for a budget mask (currently the Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Mask is under the £5 mark on offer at Boots and is normally only £6.99). It has been one of the best products I’ve picked up for a while for smoothing and nourishing my hair. So do you think you’ll try the Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Mask?
