Lancôme's Juicy Shaker on the RocksDSC_0332There hasn’t been a beauty launch that’s created as much buzz as Lancômes new Juicy Shaker Lipglosses for a long time. It seems everywhere you look there’s one of these adorable cocktail shaker shaped glosses…but is the product worth the hype? When Lancôme reached out to me and asked if I’d like to try one of the shades I couldn’t wait to find out, and after having it for about a week I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts!

Before we get into the formula and shade, I’ve got to address this packaging. The idea of the shaker style bottle comes from the fact that the product is formulated with oil and pigment that needs to be shaken to be applied. Lancôme hit the nail on the head with this one, you can see the separated oils through the glass, then with a little shake they magically mix to create the lip colour. In the cap of the bottle is a chunky sponge tip that’s coated lightly in colour when you do the shakey-shake action. At first I was a little concerned that the sponge might be a little too large for precise application, but after testing the product for a while I can say that it’s actually a great size as you don’t have to be too precise with the application. There are tiny beads that help mix the formula into one creamy shade. I also love the fact that the cap is really secure meaning it won’t accidentally pop off in your bag and cause a makeup disaster!

On to the shade…I was gifted the shade Boom-Meringue, a baby pink with micro-glitter. On paper this gloss doesn’t sound all that sophisticated but actually the shade is sheer enough to flatter the complexion and the shimmer is fine enough to just give lips an extra plump look. As far a I can tell from other reviews online the Juicy Shakers with a darker pigment act as stains within the oil/gloss, however Boom-Meringue doesn’t leave behind any pigment as it’s a very light shade.

On the lips the Juicy Shakers feel incredible. I’ve never been a fan of sticky glosses, so finding a glossy colour that glides on, isn’t in the slightest sticky and is pretty long wearing for a gloss is groundbreaking. The fantastic formula would probably account for why I’ve been reaching for it everyday. That incredible feeling probably comes from the blend of sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil that add nourishment, plumpness and shine to the lips.

If you’re a regular reader of Made From Beauty you’ll know that I don’t really like scented lip products. So for me, this is the Juicy Shakers only down fall; very reminiscent of the Lancôme Juicy Tubes, the Juicy Shakers are all heavily fragranced. From what I could tell in store, every scent in the collection is very sweet but all individual to the shade of the gloss. So the shade I have, Boom-Meringue literally smells like freshly baked meringue.

Lancôme's Juicy Shaker on the Rocks SwatchAll in all I’m completely in love with the new Lancôme Juicy Shakers, I’ve tried a couple of the other shades in store and love each and every shade. Have you tired the new Juicy Shaker Lipglosses? If not, would you like to? Let me know in the comments below.
