DSC_0073Rimmel have been bringing it with their lipstick formulas this year. I’ve featured their Provocalips Lip Colours and Nude Collection Lipsticks by Kate Moss on Made From Beauty (spoiler alert: I loved both). So I had high hopes for their next lip colour release: The Only 1 Lipsticks.

I picked up three shades from the collection, Naughty Nude, You’re All Mine, Best of the Best.

Naughty Nude

This shade has been my favourite of the three I have by far. The tawny rose nude adds a beautiful colour to the lips that is enough to perk up the complexion in the colder months.

You’re All Mine

This is the shade I kind of regret buying. Although it’s a beautiful hot pink, I wasn’t in love with it to begin with, I actually only brought it to review a selection of colours. My issue with this shade is that it’s not very wearable for the colder months, even lightly pressed into the lips.

The Best of the Best

I’ve ended up loving this shade a lot more than I thought I would. I was a bit concerned that this would be too much of a fuss, a bright red in a slippery, moisturising formula. Actually, I’ve found I love this shade pressed gently into the lips for a semi-matte, long lasting raspberry stain, especially on the weekends.

The Formula

I honestly wasn’t wowed by the shade selection of this collection, but its the formula that these lipsticks really to come into their own. Moisturising, yet surprisingly long lasting. Enough of a sheen to give lips a plump look, yet not slippery. There’s some Rosa Fruit Oil and vitamin E thrown in to moisturise the lips too!

With the feeling of a lip balm or ‘lip butter’ you might think these would be a bit wishy-washy on the pigmentation front – nope! With just one swipe theres instant, powerful colour.

There is a sweet scent to the lipsticks, which I know some people will love and I don’t mind as it disappears pretty quickly after application.

If you are looking for a super long lasting colour, these might not be the obvious choice, yet with the addition of a lip liner, a little blotting and a couple of layers, I find the Only 1 Lipsticks can actually last up to six hours on me.

The Packaging

Im a fan of the route Rimmel has gone with the packaging of the Only 1 Lipsticks. Sleek, black, but with a coloured ban making is easier to know what colour you’re picking up. I also love the fact that they have gone with a flat top bullet. For me, this makes it super easy for quick application of the nude shades, or easy to use a lip brush with the bolder colours.

So have you tried the Rimmel Only 1 Lipsticks? If so, let me know your thoughts in the comments and what shades you picked up, I’d love to try more of nude shades from this collection!
