DSC_0021There’s no doubt that in this day and age, more and more of us are turning to bloggers for information about beauty products. I know I often swat up on my favourite beauty blogs if I need a new skincare or makeup fix. So today I’m going to run you through some of the skincare products I’ve picked up after reading the wise words of many-a beauty blogger. I’ll give you a run down of each product, but also try to answer that all important question – are they as good as bloggers say?

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo

As blogger skincare recommendations go, this product is a little bit ‘old news’. But beauty bloggers all over the world are still, years after its release, recommending it for skin woes. The anti-blemish cream has been a staple of my skincare stash for about three years now and it’s something I’ll continue to repurchase for it’s magical powers against those pesky blemishes. It isn’t a product I reach for on a daily basis, but if I feel a blemish coming up, or around ‘that time of the month’ when I know my chin will burst out in hard to budge spots, I slather this on. I find it doesn’t give me enough moisture alone, so I love layering it with another cream at night, or under a hydrating primer during the day to help beat those blemishes.

Pixi Glow Tonic

This is a new product in my skincare routine and boy am I impressed! After hearing the rave reviews from beauty bloggers about Alpha H’s Liquid Gold, I’d been a faithful user of that chemical exfoliant for years. But I guess you could say that the Pixi Glow Tonic is the new one on the block. I would say that the Glow Tonic is more gentle than Liquid Gold, but I have still seen great results! My skin is brighter, clearer and softer after just two weeks of continued use – this will be sticking around in my skincare drawer for a while!

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

About two years ago, this Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm became the talk of the beauty blogging world. Although I enjoyed using this product, I wouldn’t say this is a must for anyone. It removes makeup, cleans skin beautifully and feels so luxurious to use. My issue is that this product makes no lasting effect on my skin, which honestly is fine with me, considering it is only on the skin for a maximum of five minutes.

Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning

I am 100% in love with this product, it’s one of the best beauty blogger recommendations I’ve ever come across. I won’t go on too much about this stunner of a product, as I’ve written a full review here, but expect fuss-free, bronzed skin that looks healthy and perfected, all in one application.

Garnier Micellar Water

There’s not much I can say about a micellar water really, but this Garner number has been raved and raved about over the past year by many bloggers. This is actually my second bottle, which is surprising as I’m not actually that much of a fan. I like the fact that the water removes my makeup very quickly, I like the price point and I like the packaging, so really it serves a purpose for me. My issue with this product is that it dries my skin out, which is why it is reserved for the odd makeup removal here and there and not an everyday item for me.

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist

Let this product be a reason to you all. This beauty mist was recommended so eloquently by a famous beauty blogger that I felt I had to buy it to have perfect skin. As a toner, this product works well and is nice to use, it also looks beautiful on my dressing table but…this 100ml bottle is £46.00! I honestly don’t know what I was thinking. After using this for about four months straight I can honestly I’ve seen no change in my skin. For a toner or a beauty water I wouldn’t expect a huge change in my skin, however for £46.00 I feel like I could have spent my money more wisely.

I know that skincare is always going to be a bit hit and miss, especially when you purchase something on recommendation, but as a beauty lover – I actually enjoy that part! I love trying new products, so keep the recommendations coming ladies!

Maybe next time I want to try an expensive product like the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist, I should follow my own advice and try to get a sample!

So have you brought products on the recommendation of a beauty blogger? If so, share in the comments what it was and what your experience was, I’d love to know!
