Made From Beauty Loreal True MatchL’Oreal really bring it with their base products, I haven’t tried a foundation from the brand that I didn’t love and the True Match foundation one of my personal favourites. Now, with a new packaging update and a few changes, the brand gives their best selling base a luxe overhaul that every makeup addict will want to display on their dressing table.

Just like the previous packaging, L’Oreal give us a beautiful glass bottle with a great pump, that dispenses just the right amount to cover the whole face. I am a huge fan of the new packing, with a sleeker design that’s really rather pretty. Fans of the formula will be pleased to hear that there’s still the standard 30ml of product in the design too.

If you haven’t tried True Match, then I suggest you pick one up soon, I’m pretty sure it will become an everyday staple within a week! L’Oreal gives a great shade range, I have W3/D3 which matches my yellow toned complexion perfectly, so you’re almost guaranteed to find the shade for you too.

The finish of True Match is stunning, the foundation mimics natural skin texture, giving a flawless, non-cakey look that’s breathable and lightweight. It’s also one of the few drugstore foundations that isn’t matte or dewy, so sits perfectly in-between giving a glow to the skin that’s natural and healthy.

With the slight formulation change, L’Oreal have thrown in ‘light-reflecting pigments and oils’ to add more glow to this well-loved base. I must say, this is a welcome addition for me. I sometimes found the old formula could dry my skin slightly if I wore it everyday. The sacrifice for this extra glow? Well, unfortunately, its the staying power. I now find the foundation will only last around five hours without any touch ups before I start to see it breaking up around my mouth and chin area. Personally, this is a small price to pay for a little added extra glow, and nothing that will put me off making this my everyday base choice.

I’d say the foundation is medium coverage, allowing it to be buildable in problem areas. You can also mix it with a little moisturiser to get a lighter coverage if you want – really a great all-rounder. L’Oreal allow you lots of blending time with True Match too, making it super blendable and easy to buff into the skin with minimal effort.

My only gripe with True Match is the SPF of 17. SPF 17 isn’t really enough to protect your skin from sun damage, so I’m not too sure why its there. Thankfully it’s not too bad for flashback in flash photography, so L’Oreal, we’ll just look past that one.

Have you tried L’Oreal True Match? If so, what were your thoughts on the foundation? And do you like the new formula and packaging? Let me know in the comments.
