Made From Beauty Five Bad Beauty Habits to Break Now
First of all, let’s just address the title of this blog post. I’m not an expert, and I’m certainly not here to tell you what to do and what not to do – but for the purpose of a snapping title, let’s run with it…

I’ve got five beauty things that are common and yet really not all that good for you. Like I said I’m not here to preach but I’m more advising against them, say.

If you are doing some or all of these and they work for you, sure thing, keep going, but first hear me out…

1.) Using Vaseline

This is my number one gripe with the beauty world. Many of us have been led to believe that Vaseline, or petroleum jelly to be precise will aid dry skin. I’m sorry to break it to you, but it will not. The product just creates a barrier between your skin and the air, which will actually led to it drying out more, it will also clog pores.

2.) Using Wipes to Remove Makeup

If you read this post, you’ll know I would highly recommend putting the makeup wipes down if you’ve been using them to remove your makeup. I have also known some people who have used baby wipes to remove their makeup! Sure they might be a cheap option, but with continued use you’ll likely see skin producing excess oil, breaking out and becoming dehydrated.

3.) Skipping the Moisturiser

Keeping skin moisturised is very important to keep it in tip top condition. Using a moisturiser at least once a day will help skin look healthier, reproduce more efficiently and help prevent stretch marks.

4.) Brushing Your Hair

Now you think I’m going crazy right? But if you are trying to grow your hair, then cut down on the amount you brush it. Brushing can actually cause breakage, by putting stress on the hair. Try getting yourself a de-tangling brush such as The Wet Brush to try to minimize the amount of pulling Ava stretching happening to the hair when you do brush it.

5.) Not Cleaning Makeup Brushes

If you apply makeup, then it’s really important to wash your brushes regularly, with a deep clean at least once a month. It’s also important to use something antibacterial, to kill all the nasties that can be lurking in the bristles. Without regular cleaning not only will your makeup brushes not apply your makeup very well, but dirty brushes can cause breakouts and even eye infections!

So there are my top five bad beauty habits I would advise you think twice about! So what would you add to this list? Let me know in the comments below.
