We’ve all been there – summer has crept up on you, suddenly the weather is warmer, you want to wear a skirt, but your legs haven’t seen the daylight in nearly a year. Now, if you’re lucky you can just exfoliate, shave, moisturise and pop a skirt on. If, like me, you like to have your arms and shoulders out as often as you can, chances are the top half of you will be a completely different colour to your bottom half.
That was the annoying situation I found myself in the other day. I had been slowly working up the confidence to chuck on a skirt, but the idea of fake tanning had completely skipped my mind.
Thank god for the Rimmel Sunshimmer Instant Tan BB Perfector!
The people at Rimmel must have found themselves all the wrong shades come summer too and so created this wash off fake tan.
If you’re a beauty veteran, you might remember the original Rimmel Sunshimmer Instant Tan. Back in the day, I used to pile on the stuff (mainly because Mum wouldn’t let me loose with real fake tan) all over my legs and arms. Looking back, I resembled a sparkly orange – that is never a good look!
The original Sunshimmer isn’t a product I would even consider picking up again, with large chunks of glitter and in a really really fake tan shade. But when Rimmel released the new Sunshimmer BB shades (back last year I think) I thought I’d give the shade Light a go, especially as there was now a ‘Matte’ option.
Last summer I went through a full tube of this product, and I can see myself doing the same again this year.
Don’t be fooled by the use of the word ‘Light’ though, this shade honestly packs a lot of punch. It’s a non-commitment, wash off, natural looking, medium tan. The beauty of the formula is also in the ‘BB’ side of things. It is able to smooth over imperfections, covering anything from scars to bruises – think of it as makeup for the body!
Smooth it on with a tan applicator, allow to dry and expect all day tanned limbs, imperfections blurred and confidence boosted! The formula is also ‘waterproof’, which basically means it can handle a light splash of rain (which is always a possibility in the UK) but will still come of easily in the shower.
I even like to mix the product in with a little moisturiser for a more subtle finish.
