The Nivea Lip Balms Made From Beauty There’s something intoxicating about highstreet shopping. Finding that gem of a product, something no one else seems to be talking about, or something so awesome you wanna write a blog post about.

That’s what happened to me a few weeks back as I rifled through the Superdrug shelves (Superdrug is now right on my doorstep, it’s all still pretty new to me). There hidden amongst the many lip balms (who knew we needed such a wide selection?!) was the Nivea Fruity Shine Balms.

On a completely unrelated note, can we just address how cute my cookies are above? I made them ya know!

Anyway back to the Nivea lip products…A whack of moisture, with a subtle hint of colour? I’m in! And at £1.00 – £2.50 – I’m gonna buy a bundle!

I picked up the Peach Fruity Shine, the Cherry Fruity Shine and the Lip Care Soft Rose (yes, yes I know rose isn’t a fruit but you get the gist).

First of all these are really lovely as handbag products. We all need a little something to inject some moisture into our lips every now and then, and these Nivea product really can. Sure, they aren’t the most glamorous products, but they do give your lips just enough moisture to keep them looking plump between lipstick applications.

Here in wearing the Peach Fruity Shine:Made From Beauty me wearing Nivea Fruity Shine PeachThis one has to be my favourite of the bunch. I’m mad for peachy shades at the moment, so the idea of one I can slap on and go is right up my street. The colour isn’t all that detectable but that’s what these products are all about, just that light layer of colour. The only thing I would say is I’m not mad about the small flakes of silver glitter in the Peach Fruity Shine. It isn’t all that obvious, but I don’t feel like the product really needed it.

Here I’m wearing the Cherry Fruity Shine:Made From Beauty me wearing Nivea Lip Fruity Shine Cherry

This is where the range kicks the colour up a notch. A cherry red shade that’s great for everyday wear or even an evening look. This shade has the same pigmentation of a light gloss, without the tackiness! There are again those pesky flakes of glitter, not my favourite, but something I can forget easily.

The formula of the Fruity Shines are light and a little slippery, which I actually find more comfortable for day to day wear.

Here I’m wearing the Lip Care Soft Rose:Made From Beauty me wearing Nivea Lip Care Soft RoseNow I’m not sure about this one. As the Soft Rose isn’t part of the Fruity Shines range there are some differences here. The colour isn’t as shiney or slippery, there’s almost a sticky balm feeling – which is great for making the product stay on the lips, but can make the colour apply a little patchy. Another difference is there’s no glitter – check! But I’m not sure the colour is right for me, a milky, rosey pink with slight purple undertones.

There is the smell to address, Nivea boost about the ‘delicious aroma’ these products have, which might sound appealing to a fourteen year old, but honest sounds horrible to me. There is a fake fruit smell, which you get a quick whiff of as you apply, but thankfully that doesn’t linger on the lips – phew!

I’m not sure if these are the best balms out there (the best I’ve found is the NUXE Rêve de Miel F.Y.I) but they are certainly something that’s worked their way into my everyday makeup bag.

Have you ever tried the Nivea lip products? I’d love to know your thoughts, leave them in the comments below.
