Wintery ShadowsI know I’ve been complaining a little recently about the cooler weather here, I must admit I love winter makeup. Especially winter eyes. God I love winter eyes! I am a sucker for bronze, smokey eyes. Today I’m going to share with you a few of my favourite eye colours for the colder months.

First is a product I have talked about on MadeFromBeauty before, the Maxfactor Excess Shimmer shadow in Bronze. I have written about this beautiful pot of bronzey goodness over here, so I’ll save you the long description. Lovely colour, especially smudged into the lashline. (Swatched 4th, far right)

Another drugstore love has to be the Rimmel palette in Brixton Brown, particularly for the centre shade. A brilliant MAC Cranberry dupe, this rust shade comes over a little less purple. I love this one over the centre of the lid with black liner, winged, or smudged out kohl. (Swatched 3rd)

In the same colour family is Clinique’s Black Honey. I can wear Black honey all over the lid blended out with a matte brown for the day, or pack it to intensify it for night time wear. If you’re looking for a really great winter shade, this warm brown red would be an excellent choice and Clinique shadows are always buttery smooth. (Swatched 2nd)

One wintery shade I have been reaching for time and time again is L’Oreals 302 Smokey. L’Oreal really hit it out of the park with this line of shadows, beating all other drugstore offerings for me. The formula of the Color Riche L’Ombre Pure shadows are exceptional, so blendable, smooth and soft. They are so soft that mine actually shattered a week after purchase, luckily I saved it and was able to press it back in again and all’s been fine since. 302 Smokey is a stunning dark brown with purple undertones and fine gold shimmer. This shadow would give high end options a run for its money! (Swatched 1st, far left)
