What’s in My Handbag: London EditionAs some of you might know, I am off to London today, so I thought I’d put together my first ever edition of ‘What’s in My Handbag’ the London Edition.*

Lets talk about the bag quickly; it’s the ASOS City Bag – pretty apt considering I am heading for The City. It is a medium sized tote, with carry straps as well as a long strap for more convenient over the shoulder/over the body carrying. The zip closure was an essential when looking like a tourist in London. It has an outter zipper pocket as well, but I wont be storing anything in there for this trip. This is only the second bag I have order from ASOS, but I must say with both I have been very impressed with the quality of them.

The first item is, of course, my purse. This is an old one from River Island, which although it’s huge size has been a great purse over the years. It doesn’t quite fit my style anymore, but it is very durable and holds a ton. Inside I have all good beauty cards like my Boots, Space NK and Liberty.

Any self respecting Londoner knows you need an Oyster card to get from A to B, so although we are only visiting, I decided to pick one up as it cuts the price of travelling dramatically. It also gives me the chance to use my H&M card holder, I couldn’t find this black one online, but I know they keep popping up in store, so if you like, keep your eyes pealed.

I also have my iPhone knocking about, attached to my headphones. I wish I could tell you more about these head phones apart from they are black, beautiful, and awesome sound quality, but they were a gift so I have no idea. I don’t even know the brand, sorry!

What’s in My Handbag: London Edition Makeup BagThen we are onto my makeup bag! I know this is what you’re all here for, so let’s dive in. First up I’m carrying a face powder, the Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder is my favourite for on the go touch ups, its buildable but still light. The brush I’ve been using to apply my powder is the Real Techniques Duo Fiber Face Brush; I love this one as you can go heavy handed but never over do it on the matte finish as it picks up minimal product. I also carry mascara, mainly because I never manage to do mine before leaving the house, the one I have at the moment is the Benefit Roller Lash (read my full review here). I also have in here a few hair grips, just in case the drizzle releases the fizz! For this trip I’ve also packed some wet wipes and a hand sanitiser, as we’ll be eating lots of street food and not stopping off at the hotel very often. In the interest of keeping my hands soft after all that hand sanitiser I have thrown in Hand Food by Soap and Glory, a great all rounder for day-to-day use. Most of my makeup tends to stay in place all day, but I like to pack a concealer for emergencies, the one I’ve been carrying at the moment is MAC’s Mineralize Concealer. I brought this by mistake one day, when I was new to MAC, I had got my names mixed up and asked for this instead of the Pro Longwear formula. I am happy I ended up with this one though, it makes a great handbag concealer as it layers well and never goes cakey whilst drying to a natural finish. I am also carrying a couple of lip options, my red lip is courtesy of the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Light It Up, as well as a coral red (something I’m loving at the moment, blog post coming soon) in the form of MAC Relentlessly Red. My nude option is Rimmel’s Exaggerate Liner in Eastend Snob and Barry M Lipgloss.

Water and SnackAs we’re travelling I thrown in a bottle of water and a Cocoa Coconut Protein Flapjack by Trek as a little snack.

I also I have my keys in their little key holder, (which my mum says makes me old, but I think its cute), a packet of tissues and a few wipes for my glasses. Oh, and a pen, always need a pen!

So there you have, a little nosey around my London bag, traveling pretty light if I must say so myself!

Sam
